2400w!! Just purchased a Hifonics Zeus ZRX2400.1D amp for the truck. 2400w ought to do the trick.

Once I get the amp, I'm going to mount it on a 1/4" board, and mount that to the cross brace between the sub boxes behind the back seats. Pics will definitely be shown. I was hitting between 115-120db with the JL sub and PDX amp, but my goal is 135 with the Sundown subs and this new amp. I should definitely get the excursion that I'm looking for, that will allow for more SPL.

How much air space do you have for the sundown subs?

Also what amp and where did you put it for your front/rear speakers? Thanks I am redoing and updating my system. And my older amps are to big for my new configuration. I am also thinking of selling my Memphis subs and get the SD-2's

    .6 cu. ft. per sub.

For the front components, JL C2-250's are in the stock locations with adapters I purchased from a member here. Running them off an Alpine KTP-445U universal power pack, bridged to 90w each. Decent power, and if I decide I need more, I can mount an amp under the front seats, we'll see. Rear speakers are running off the deck. Did some measurements, and the amp will be a tight fit behind the seat, but should fit just fine. Can't wait for the shipper to get it on it's way.

Amp should fit on a 1/4" board mounted to the center bump on the sub boxes. Had to take the plastic off the back of the seats, as the excursion of the subs was hitting the plastic. That's the best pic you get right now, it's raining pretty good here.

I am also running C2-650 up front, mine are powered by my old school MTX TA3404 amp, but only about 75 watts. The amp will run 4 channels but am still running the factory rear speakers off deck power. Still not sure if I will replace them or just leave them stock as its mostly rear fill. I really didn't want to loose the a/c vent to the rear. I'm in Bakersfield Ca and its already over 100 and it's not even summer yet!!!! I will try to post some pics of my current set up, dual amps on the drivers side and 2 10's take up the rest.

Replied to your PM, but might as well throw some ideas out here too. 75w isn't much to the JL C2 speakers, so why your tweeter is cutting out is a mystery. If you did bypass the factory wiring, I can see a faulty crossover being the culprit. I have the system up pretty loud, sometimes maxxed on my deck, and I've never had my system cut out on me. Something is definitely going on. Maybe someone else can chime in with other ideas too.

Thanks that was my thought as well. I will try to throw a different amp in there and see what happens.

If you want a scientifically designed system that will meet your expectations you should contact Pete Kulicki at PWK Designs. He does a lot with Sundown and can write your specifications and design your enclosure for a pretty reasonable price. His enclosures are customized to your vehicle, listening style, music, and drivers.

If you're really concerned about performance it's worth the $ to have your enclosures purpose built.

If you have a few hours to spare, dig into his website. There's a lot of really cool stuff for audiophiles.
