Funny thing is that everyone says its the "new" chevy. They changed. Different now. LOL
Its still the same old crap.
Toyota has always been number one and will always be.

Great post, but like others have said, Tacomas make rattles, creeks and wind noise. Again it's a truck, it's built for work. My 15 came with incomplete spot welds around the passenger door. Creeked like hell. Took over a month to fix. Im not a fan of Chevy but, things happen, that's what warranty are for right.

That sucks to have that happen on your brand new truck, sorry bro :(

But even so I'd still rather have these issues, they seem like you could isolate and solve them... this Chevy didn't have one or two little issues, nothing to isolate or correct there weren't actually any "problems". It's just everywhere you touched it felt like it was falling apart, which is just like every other used Chevy I've seen. Chevy has shitty interiors they always have I guess this video is just to highlight why we shouldn't expect any different from the new Colorado.
There seems to be this idea that "Chevy is different now! They're so much better than the old ones!" and after driving my first little used one today I say BS, it's the same old Colorado.

The fact your videos are considered actual problems is kind of atestament to what we expect from Tacomas. I'd actively try to get those fixed. The Chevy there's nothing to fix, I'm just pointing out overall build quality the "problem" is everywhere I poked how do you fix that?? You sell it and get a Tacoma :D

turns out it kinda does. I've turned my passion for cars into a pretty well paying career, better $ than if I used my degree at least. I think the fact people can tell I'm an enthusiast and I know my shit has really helped me rise to the top in sales.

But other then that, it's just a hobby. I don't follow sports so I shoot the shit with cars instead :)

Everyone is beating up this guy about his post, not sure why. Its his opinion and its a free country. This is my second Tacoma and I traded my 2nd gen for a new 2015 Ram 1500 hemi. That was my first mistake, I should of kept the 2nd gen. The Ram was at the dealer 5 times in 1 year for random crap. My old man has had 3 Tacomas and a RAV 4, no issues at all with all those vehicles. Lets face it most car manufacturers make pretty good cars today, some better than others. We drive Toyotas which are known for reliability. Are they perfect no but what is. My new 2017 has the front diff bearing issue as the 2nd gens had but I did lift the truck, guess what I am not crying because I can fix the issue. Lets face it if anyone is unhappy with their Tacomas then trade it in, remember it does have one of the highest resale values and go buy a chevy, Ram, or Ford, or whatever. Drive what you want. I like Toyotas and I have had Nissans, Fords, Ram(Dodge). Stop beating the OP up dont like his post dont look. HEy by the way OP nice videos and I agree the GM twin trucks suck. :amen::crapstorm:

This thread needs to be put on hold.
Lets resurrect it in 10 years when Tacos have 200K miles and Colorados are, well just say Chevy junk. Nothing new really is it ?

Hard to believe people are trying to compare a Shity to Toyota.

Haha my bad. I misread your initial post about being biased. And I'm not disagreeing with you that there's a reason why Honda and Toyota vehicles fetch better resale values. Hell, that's one of the main reasons why I bought my Tacoma. So let's not get hostile here because you gotta realize we are on the same team.

All I was trying to say was that the video you made was kind of pointless because:

    1. You might have just gotten a bad example of the car. It doesn't mean all colorados are shit.

    2. The Toyota itself has its own issues.

0 issues here. Maybe a few whiners here and there but nothing major or do you think they would still be selling them ???

    Toyota is solid. Always was.

    Likewise.

Once again, I'm not saying anything bad about Toyotas. Just saying that our trucks aren't perfect either.

We shouldn't go about making videos of trucks (especially of ones we don't even own) just to bash on them. It's kind of petty and doesn't necessarily send a good image out to other truck owners.

i have a 2015 tacoma, at work we have 2016 chevy colorados we put leveling kits on the front to raise it for the plows, front end is too low from the factory .i must admit they ride well suspension wise, and rear springs are better than the stock tacoma springs thats for sure and they can handle a heavy load and dont sag, seats are uncomfortable for me, dont care much for the radio and how the blue tooth works, but it does not freeze like my entune does sometimes, but we did find out it shuts off when u use the heat on high because radio gets too hot being that the vents are right next to it, also love the rear defroster on the colorado. but for me personality i like the 2nd gen tacoma, it is higher off the ground from the factory.

See this is really interesting to me. The jump from 15 to 16 Colorado looks like a big difference in quality. But was the truck redone? Or is it that they're great new but quickly deteriorate a year later.

The Tacoma looks like it took a step down, I'll be curious to see if 2017 is any different

How do you figure that ? Last line in CR says reliability is below average on Colorado.
In NADA report it says Taco reliability is great.
"Known for its reliability and good looks, the Tacoma ranked among the best in J.D. Power’s 2016 Initial Quality Study"

This thread is pretty funny. I'm not a fanboy of either truck, I did trade my 17 Tacoma for a Canyon. I found the Tacoma to be a fine truck, unless you do a ton of highway driving and need decent mileage. Two hours of my day is on the highway, so I traded for a Canyon diesel, and I am much happier. It's a great truck, and has none of the rattling in the video. My Tacoma didn't rattle like the one on one of the posts either.

I was a Manager at a Ford dealership for years, and they would take us to ride-and-drive's where we would drive the ford, and other brands and see what the differences are. They are bullshit brainwash scenarios, designed to show on the strengths of the Ford and weaknesses of the other brands. Just like the thread here. When the eco-boost came out, we towed a trailer with each brand, and the Ford seemed to pull the best. The others probably didn't have a tow package. When we did the drag race test, suddenly they didn't have a Tundra with the giant 5.7 V8 to race against the F150. I asked why, and they said they didn't have one. They didn't like it when I mentioned that we could go get the one we are using in the towing part of the ride and drive.

They are both fine trucks, depending on what you want in a truck. You want to mod it up and go off road, the Tacoma is the truck for you. Drive a ton on the highway, and don't really care about going off road, get the Colorado/Canyon. Lets all stop acting like the Tacoma is perfect, because it's not. Neither is the GM twins. Lets all chill and agree that it's the Dodge that really sucks.

I'm just waiting on that Colorado ZR2. All the off-road ability it brings to the table and it includes a diesel model. It will put the TRD PRO to shame.
