    Agreed. Not to mention the 2016 Windshield Kazoo noise:

    Which is a problem since since at least 2005. (I had it in my 2010)

    There are a host of noises like pointed out in the Colorado video that I had to fix in my 2010. Plus I test drove a 2013 TRD OR with 20,000 kms on it (12.5K miles) which had worst rattles and squeaks than the Colorado video did.

    You can easily do a youtube search on 2nd gen or 3rd gen noises/rattles/howls and tons of videos come up.

    Not saying the Colorado is not a POS, but if you live in a glass house, don't be throwing stones.

    Good post OP. I've had many GM trucks over the years and they were ALL crap....from cracked blocks to tranny's failing prematurely, etc, etc.... When I finally stopped buying their crap and got a Taco in 2006..I was saved..!!!!! I had that truck 11 yrs and not 1 rattle/squeak in over 110K. Only Mtce other than routine was an Alternator. Never stranded me either, like the GM's did.
    Best truck I ever owned....hopefully I'll feel that way about my 2016 Taco in 12 yrs....!

    Long live the 3rd gen....:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

    There is a tsb fix for this for 2nd and 3rd gens. I would get Toyota to fix it before you start going nuts.

    I had the tsb done and its never (thankfully) been back.

    meh. I've owned GM products and they were always flawed and of poor quality. I'll
    stick with the imports, thank you.

    The ZR2 diesel has me interested, but I can see me getting 250K miles in the Tacoma without major issues. Can't say I have the same confidence in the Chevy.

    Wow...tough crowd. I've owned two Tacoma's and now I own a 2016 GMC Canyon. You won't see me bash either truck..... because they both have their issues.
    My truck? Yea...there were some interior panels that needed 'snapped' in place and one door panel needed replaced. Dealership took care of it - no more issues.
    I didn't buy the truck for the interior. I bought the Canyon for the available options they offer. I wanted a fully loaded truck that I can option it out as I want.
    If Toyota would've had the same OPTIONS available, I'd probably be driving a Tacoma. Toyota should've offered the same options in the Tacoma as they do in the rest of their fleet..

    So far, after 6,000miles and 9 months, I'm enjoying the truck. Knock on wood! I realize as time goes forth - I may be regretting my decision - so be it. If this thing doesn't take care of me, I'll kick it to the curb. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm excited to use the Remote start with the OnStar App to remotely start the truck from my office chair to clear my windows of snow/ice before I even get in it. :)
