Didn't the S2000 have a power-operated top? Did it not work half the time?

Agreed, and that may very well be exactly what it is. Toyota and GM swap vehicles all the time. The pontiac Vibe was just a Matrix. The cavalier was sold in europe as a toyota. I personally like it.. and I would consider it if it really is hilux underneath.

    Im getting there......
I really dont know about this truck I agree with the previous comment that nissan and toyota have the best trucks in this market. As far as a production model like this goes for toyota it will never happen because toyota does not create niche vehicles because they have no need to do so to attract buyers, after all look at all of us. Also given that a tacoma cost more than a similarly equiped f150 it will be super expensive....(not that that would stop me but why when you could do better with aftermarket parts).

I will never buy a domestic small pickup unless they imporve dirastically.

I can only imagine a Baja Edition Cadillac Escalade EXT. What kinds of people would by it? (not implying any disrespect to the Texans here......:D)

^If the way the $40K Ford Raptor is selling is any indication, there may be a niche market for these trucks yet.
