My arguement is who cares where the profits go. Obviously over the years Toyota has funneled profits back to the US by making capital investments in plant and machinery and employing US citizens on US soil so they are supporting the country regardless of where the profits go. People forget that profit is whats left after expenses are paid. Toyota isn't sending the revenue back, they are sending profits back.

There are tons of US companys who do the exact same thing. Open plants in other countries and send the profits back to the US.

Yep thats the part a lot of the media is leaving out. They are using taxpayer money to pay back taxpayer money. its like me giving you $20 cash for your birthday and then giving you a $20 loan. Then you use the $20 birthday money to pay back the $20 loan. You didn't actually create any wealth for yourself, just shuffled money around.

Yeah you're right. I don't even argue with anybody like that. No matter what they say they will always be right in their own mind.

wait a few years when all the warranty is gone. Your taco will still drive like a newer vehicle and the chevy will be closer to a lumber wagon. My old mans 07 has 140k km on it and it still drives like a brand new truck.

My response to those who hate on what I'm drving regardless of brand name is the same: I'm making the payment, not you. Until the day comes when you are the one making the payment on what I'm driving, you have no say in my choice of vehicles.

I sell Chevy parts and I can't believe how few of them are made in America.

Funny story. We had a customer in the shop who owned a Chevy Avalanche with a personalized license plate that said "BUY USA." Problem is, all Avalanches are made in Mexico with mostly mexican parts. The car business is a global industry now more than ever.

    GM bailout = $50 BILLION
    http://www.thenewamerican.com/index...enu-46/2333-gms-bailout-money-may-go-overseas

Toyota's current marketing capitalization is 121.05B
    What's GM's now? < $400 million.

So GM gets a $50 Billion bailout for a company now worth less than $400 million.

Toyota asked for a $2 Billion loan for a company that's worth $121 Billion.

    Oh yeah, that's the same.

    1) I went to a dealership owned by an American.
    2) I had a American salesman.
    3) I have my truck serviced by Americans.
That's a lot of income to Americans... oh
    4) My truck was made in North America.

GM is made and sold worldwide... In Australia we owned a Holden Monero (what GM called a Chevy Camero, there)... So is Toyota... It is a world economy now. Heck, they make JEEPS in Canada!

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
Ask him if his 'truck' rides on the bump stops with 3 people in it, like mine does....
Ask him if his or others alloy wheels look like a 100yr old shipwreck at the bottom of the sea....
Ask him if he overpaid by 20% for the priviledge....
Ask him if he's worried the frame rails are going to rust out and the truck break in half.
    I can go on.
