say you'd rather buy a quality japanese product made in the usa which gave jobs to thousands of americans with some money going to the bigwigs in Japan than to buy a shitty gmc made in mexico where a lot of the money is going to a few bigwigs in America and none of it to middle class america.

Depends on which vehicles you're comparing. If we're comparing like trucks:

A Tacoma will blow away a Colorado for resale value. A Colorado will depreciate about 40% faster than a Tacoma.

However a Tundra will depreciate slightly faster than a Silverado (about 10%).

    GM american made?? Yeah right....
Most parts made in mexico or canada and NEITHER company which benifits more from them put up ANY bailout money... AS a matter of fact they were asked and REFUSED....

But then again lets get to the REAL reason the economy sank...

FUEL PRICES and the higher cost of life that trickled from that.. Making people that were able to pay their mortgage lose their ass and not be able to pay...

If you view sales numbers......in america gm sells within 40k cars that toyota sells......and the 50 billion was split in half, so gm got 25 billion. There is no way in hell that toyota is worth 242 times as gm....plus the chevy silverado has outsold the camry and corolla combined in the last year....a stat you can look up....and that's JUST the truck chevy makes"

My buddy hit me with this today guys kind of late i thought he gave in. he knows his stuff more than i do for sure, i really havent been that big of truck person till i got my tacoma a month ago but i cant let him win noW! help

that in no way makes his truck better. simply a statistic....he could have even made it up...who knows.

EDIT: also, why is he comparing a truck to two cars??? that's like picking on the fat kid with down syndrome...you just don't do it.

yea, its become less of a truck competition and mroe of a company battle haha.

Honestly if i were to buy a full size i would go Silverado over a tundra i think because slightly better resale and ive always liked them.

Not that id ever trade my tacoma so much prettier : )

edit: yea im not sure why thats the way he is comparing, possibly those are toyotas top sellers (id assume this is how he did it) because im sure there are a ton more silverados out there than tacomas..

at this point i'd tell him that the arguement's going nowhere and you should agree to disagree. more than likely he'll act all immature and say you're giving up because you've run out of facts and that chevy is better. just shrug it off...that will get to him more than another "toyota is better" argument.

they sold so many silverardos in the last year because of the price they were selling them. I know so many people that bought a new silverado in the last year because you could buy a brand new fully loaded crew cab for less then you could a 4 year old tacoma.
