Good god, where do they find these “reality owners / not actors ” to shill for these companies. In other countries they would be banished from their families for such a disgrace.

Anyways......here is the rub: GM is the most reliable brand, by a long shot!

-it is most reliable to fail
-it is most reliable to leave you stranded
-it is most reliable to deny you warranty
-it is most reliable to lose resale value based on it being a POS.

Extremely reliable vehicles. Guaranteed to consistently disappoint you.

I have one of the cleanest 1997 Suburban 4x4 you will ever see. Now the next part of the story. It lost a wheel at 85 mph and ended up in a ditch, it never rolled. Still to clean to junk, so we are installing a corporate 14 bolt and a SAS up front. It will look like this when I am done. Will admit, it's definitely not as reliable as my Toyota, but it is a vehicle I want, when it breaks, you fix it, doesn't matter what it is. See you on the trails one day my TW friends.

My 03 yukon is near 300 and going strong. Chevy trucks we to shit with the GMT 900 chassis. The GMT800 and Gen 3 vortex 5.3 was the last good Chevy

My 01 Grand Prix with the 3.1 went through 3 lower intake manifold gaskets during the 7 years I drove it. I still have the car but will sell it for parts hopefully in the next few weeks.

Not defending GM... of course the “reliability study” has to be based on somewhat aged vehicles, otherwise what’s the point of checking the reliability factor of a new vehicle? Challenged article stated (...we found the claim was based on a single study conducted by a market research company called Ipsos that narrowly defined “reliability” as “as the repairs a car has had within a 12 month period once the car has reached three years old.”)

GM has been building garbage since the 70’s and that’ll never change cuz the corporate structure is set up like romper room.

IDK about that... I kinda like the Chevy Corvette series of vehicles, especially the ‘72 stingray (owned that smoking car when I was in college).

The only thing that really matters is that a Chevy is a Chevy and a Toyota is a Toyota. NO ONE is buying a Chevy just because of this commercial....they buy what they already wanted to buy, this ad only helps them numb the pain after they sign the dotted line on the buyers order.

Here is my garbage truck. 72 step side, 400 HP small block with a 125 HP shot of nitrous oxide when ever I needed it. This thing was unstoppable and is still running down the road today. Chevy sucks.

Wife's 2015 Suburban with 85,000 miles (that had all dealer maintenance) now has a seemingly "incorrectable" fuel system problem that will eventually ruin the engine but is not covered by 100,000 mile power train warranty. Living in Michigan, I want to route for the home team, but I will not buy another chevy. I would possibly lease one, but never purchase. Looking to sell off the Suburban and get a Jeep Cherokee Limited if GM cannot resolve my problem. The Dodge Durango before the Chevy was bought back as a lemon because of persistent electrical problem right from day 1. The chevy before the dodge required a head gasket less than 10,000 miles.

I have owned several Hondas and Audis. The Honda's were flawless and sold for a a fair prices after 100,000 miles. One audi (A4) was great and the Q5, which I sold to get the Tacoma, burned 2.5 quarts of oil between oil change interval.

In no way scientific, but knowing a lot of locals that have similar issues, I don't know how GM can claim quality superiority to anyone. I have been in the dealer service department enough to hear sob stories and tales of horribly exorbitant repair bills to convince to switch to Toyota.

Seems like it turns acidic and eats away at the gaskets, I would flush it out and replace it as soon as the vehicle goes out of warranty.

Hah! None of my GMs are under warranty. A 2008, a 1999, and a 1990.

I dont think the C7 Corvette is junk , comes from the factory at 650hp and with a good tuner can see upwards of 900plus hp

Any coolant even the old traditional Green coolant will turn acidic if not properly serviced

Yep, all comes down to proper maintenance. Anything with a motor, steam, gas, diesel, propane and electric. They all need maintenance, take care of your vehicle and it will take care of you. Some just require more maintenance than others.
