I've got two local dealers who are close to being equidistant from the house, and that would be Merrillville on 30 and Lakeshore on 20 in Burns Harbor.

One of them spent a lot of time with me, were very nice people, but were stuck on this whole "Your Way" price thing and wouldn't move from the price they wrote on the window. The other dealer didn't have the truck in stock, didn't know anything about the packages, tried to offer me more than once a package I didn't want, and had some troubles calling or emailing me back.

IMO, the Toyota online search tool sucks. And if you build a vehicle and click on "Search Inventory" it starts you over again instead of saving your build and matching it to dealers.

AutoTrader had probably the best search tool, and that was how I found St. Charles...had the truck, already online at a great price, was willing to negotiate further, was very attentive and communicated very well, so I gave them the sale!

    Great experience. I recommend them.

That's cool man, glad you found a good deal. I've heard good things from st. Charles myself. Are you gonna do any mods to it, wheels, lift, etc.

I won't be using them for service because it's quite a drive, but my local dealer has a very highly reputable service department. I'll let everyone know how it goes when I need to go in.

Thanks! As of right now I have no major mods planned, but I am looking around the site and wondering for the future. I don't really have the need for wheels, bumpers, and all that stuff but we'll see how things play out over time.

The minor things for now...I put in my Escort radar detector, and will probably have the front windows tinted to match the rear. I'm considering tube steps, bed mat, and some floor mats to protect the carpet ones. I would also like to get a mirror with Homelink, a compass, and the temp. but I've got to read up on the wiring stuff first.

I don't like the factory Entune stereo. It's awkward.

Well if you start, it gets addictive!!! I'm sure if you search on here you'll find your answers on the wiring stuff. It's a very helpful site with some cool people. Good luck

I stopped in the St. Charles dealership and asked about buying some ATF to use in the power steering pump. The parts guy looked at me like I was nuts and told me to use power steering fluid. I asked him to check with the service dept to be sure I was putting the correct fluid in. Service tech comes to the counter and tells me ATF will ruin the pump. I took him out to the truck and pointed at the cap where it states to use ATF. He gets all huffy and tells me they don't sell ATF. Will never go back there.

Just installed my ICON Progressive AAL. All went smooth other than just a couple particulars that have to be done to install this specific AAL. Truck rides smoother than expected and zero vibs noticed thus far.
