I moved from Fort Myers, FL to IL, was up there for almost 5 years and I'm slowly making my way back down again lol.

Depends on how close to work you want to be, what kind of money you want to spend, and how much chaos you're willing to put up with in you're "hood"(where you live). The farther north you go, the quieter it gets.
I live on what is considered the far north shore, (Il/Wi border) and it's quiet and the expenses are not bad, but only 25-30 min to Willmet, depending on traffic.
You're g/f might be able to ride the train to work depending on where she works, which eliminates parking and driving stress.

Personally, I would not live in the city because of the BS and less than desirable neighborhoods. Parking downtown can be a PITA and expensive. I am not familiar with the northern Chicago burbs. Metra train is a good alternative to driving downtown.

Evanston is nice. Again it depends how far you want to live from work and your gf and then price range. Also for everyone in the thread don't forget to like Chicago tacomas on Facebook and now our new Instagram! I also have taken over stickers for the group so if you're interested in one feel free to message me.

We do and she is 5'4". Just the right height to push her head foward. Believe me, it drives me nuts to have it that way but its the wife.

Got a cool light show here in Bolingbrook, and some wind but that's about it.

Flowin: 6 Tornado's, i think it was still just a severe storm when it went over the St. Charles area.
