Acura MDX which I will keep for a couple years and then hand this off to the wife to drive.

After working on finishing my basement for the last 6 months, I finally had an afternoon with nothing to do yesterday while waiting on the carpet to come in. Nothing too exciting but progress none the less.

The "Off Road" stickers on the bed of my sport have been bothering me for a while so I decided to get rid of them, and I figured I would take the Tailgate emblems off as well while I was at it. I was really nervous for how it would look after 10 years under the emblems compared to the rest of the tailgate.

    Emblems Before:

After a little heat and some fishing line:

    IMG_3435_d4e375f4546a11f1e29bafc35f97020608f5d016.jpg

After getting all of the foam adhesive off:

    IMG_3437_b5000f8d0326059c6148d4cf59509f6284f8ef1f.jpg

I didn't snap a pic after I used the adhesive remover, but there was still a perfect outline where the letters were, I was really nervous that it wasn't going to look good. This is after I did 3 stages on it with my buffer, I think it came out pretty good:

After that I washed and waxed it, and of course it started to rain. Here is is in the garage while I was finishing up getting the wax off... #longbedproblems

That turned out nice, my stickers came off pretty easy but I only waited a cpl months after I bought it. Pretty funny about the long bed mod though, thats why I have a short bed.

Did you use a hair dryer to heat the stickers up?

Yep, just my wife's hairdryer, they came off pretty easy with minimal residue left behind. As far as the long bed, I can actually fit on one side of the garage with about 6" of clearance if there is nothing in there, but everything that was packed into the basement is now in the garage while we are finishing it. Unfortunately that means big blu gets to sit outside at night.

That sucks!!!! I cant stand the thought of the truck sitting outside. But we have some pretty unruly teens here that like to throw eggs and cups of chew spit. My work van got it all the time.

Mine stays outside...and I hate it!!! I'm trying to think of where I can put my other toy in the winter so I can keep my truck inside during the colder months. Rob, where abouts do you live?

I hear ya. If your looking for ideas......Chucks BBQ in Westmont. Seems a little closer for you inner city boys. I55 & Cass ave. about a half mile north on Cass off I55. Great food and great beer......just an idea.
