Figured I'd hook my TW brothers up. Gonna list them for a bit more on FB marketplace. You can just eat Ramen for the next few months!

you think a 1997 model jeep whatever would drive and handle as smooth and buttery as my 1997 Tacoma 3.4 does 23 years later?

with very VERY fukn minimal maintenance

Cherokees are badass to build trail rigs out of. Buy one for $500 and scrap it when it no longer drives.
Having owned 3 jeeps (44willys mb, 94 wrangler, 93 cherokee) you are right. They are built out of the tossed aside left over scraps of all the other manufacturers. The only good parts on a jeep is the 4.0 straight 6, and the 5 speed manual trans. Evreything else is scrap held together with torx bolts. It did teach me how to wrench and do field repairs, my wrangler broke an axle everytime it went into 4lo, and was in a constant state of broken.

The tacoma not so much. Only left me stranded once (my fuck up) and in 14yrs of hard wheeling I broke 1cv, and 2 joints. Both ujoints my fault, one using a cracked cap and it blew apart, the other replacing that broken u joint with a non OEM one and breaking the cross clean off bumping a ledge. Orielys shit parts!

i still see many old as dirt Ford Rangers around my area, more than the real old Tacomas pre crutch

2 1996 Tacomas on the salvage lots here, need to go check them out still to see if they slipped through the buyback era

it would appear that a guy in KC area with a 2oo4 slipped through the cracks and hope Toyota does good by him, being that he is original owner with probably no notice of the problems

Illinois got the notices? but Missouri/Kansas did not or so i am thinking
no notices in my state NE
at least not 9-10 years ago

Not blems, brand spanking new, ordered them last week, just changed my mind on my build, they are gorgeous and if they sit to long I may just mount them lol.
I'm SW suburbs too so closer to Indy.

I’m all over the place. My heart is set on blue te37s think I’m gonna just patiently save and wait to do it right the first time. Or a set of gold rays ;)

these stock sport wheels though are eating at my soul

Sometimes I can tolerate them sometimes I can’t stand them. Plus I have clinicals at 6 am next semester not 100% comfortable commuting with the crappy stock Firestones with snow.
