Well that's good to know they have a method.

I negotiated the price with countryside 100% online and via email and got the out the door price. I went in at 6pm on a friday and was out of there in an hour, it was awesome. Recomend doing that.

Yep, how I always do it. I did mine through email, and then texting numbers and screen shots of price quotes back and forth, was in and out in less than 2 hours at Naperville Sat.

soo just asking around. anyone know what 3.73 gear elocker diffs are worth that need rebuilt.. id imagine they're worth something to someone who wants to regear. no locker motors on them. but full pigs.. mostly from FJ cruisers.

got 2 8" diffs too. also both needing rebuilds. one being LSD and the other open, both 4.10

it was an access cab and i just had to stop and drool at it, the shade of blue is what i had always wanted but was not available my model year that i recall

    this shade of blue :headbang:

where is the original message from @BigHam that you quoted from, i wanna know

this... i have near same issues i am trying to work with the FF stuff

    "
    BigHam said:
For anyone that uses Fluid Film, do you have any issues with it washing off easily on the high impact areas?

For example, I just sprayed mine on Saturday morning and drove in the rain we had Sunday and looking at it today it looks bone dry of FF, isn't oily in apperance at all.
    "

i scrolled back a few pages and could not find it

yes, i had problems with FF easy wash off in the heavy splash area (rear wheel wells)
it allowed salt water right through to my uncoated naked frame section i was trying to protect until the weather warmed and i could complete my project
a major flash rust event occured at near 0 degrees. 32 degrees below freezing! frame turned all bright orange and nasty :(
but it was the 1st try at using FF so i may not have known exactly what i was doing and messed it up IDK
other areas of FF application seemed to be durable, just the one spot(s) right where it counts back there
    #hardcoretacolife

some TW members are pros at using it

weather is much too mild here in my locale this season and the lack of any rain or just pity amounts of snow i have not been able to do more testing of what will stick with the splashing water assault

I have heard some people complain that it washed off, but that hasn't been my experience. Although, there are two factors in my case that maybe aren't as harsh as some of your uses.

    1) It's been kind of a mild winter in IL and I don't drive through any really heavy puddles/ water crossing types situations. Usually just on the road.

    2) I went hot and heavy with the fluid film. I put it in the frame, on the frame, inside every body panel I could reach. I bet I used 5 cans and I did it in the hottest part of summer, assuming the heat would help it penetrate.

The only areas where it looks to have thinned out are the frame areas underneath the doors that take the most direct pressure spray through the auto wash- everything else is nice and oily and accumulating grime. I can still smell it most days:)

here is what i applied to the high splash zone in the rear where the FF seemed weak and non-effective
its what one guy in upstate NY uses on his 1st gen that told me about it

CorrosionX Heavy Duty is a thicker film version of regular CorrosionX that forms a dripless, dynamic, non-hardening, self-healing film that stubbornly resists displacement by splash or spray - including complete submersion in saltwater. It will slowly penetrate existing rust and corrosion, remove moisture and stop electrolysis. And then it seals moisture out. Unlike wax coatings, it will not dry out, stiffen or crack under stress.

perhaps this Monday i can test it out for wash off durability on a rainy road, it has not rained nor snowed much at all here on the MO river for close to 3 months now

if it does not come off easily with water then i think it must be removed with mineral spirits :notsure:
