No prob, sounded like it from your description. These sealed transmissions on the 2nd gens are a PITA to do a fluid change on. Glad you got it taken care of.

Looks like a fun weekend. Hopefully I can get my shit wrapped up this week and maybe shakedown this weekend at the Badlands with Eric. Kid is due next week, so who kows when I will get a chance to get out again.

you doing that sat or Sunday?

The high lite of the weekend was getting to ride in that jeep with built 14bolt rear 60 front on 44 inch cut boggers. we ran up what the locals call rail bed which runs up into the slabrock i have pictured...it was like being in a car wreck that kept going. insanity is an understatement. To add to it i have a entirely new understanding of what bulletproof means as it was doing everything but "crawling"

Ah well, grab some junkers out the yard this week and toss them on...

Good lesson to be learned here don't let others work on your truck...that way the only person u have to blame is yourself, then learn from it.

It would be nice to say I could perform all my work, but until I can afford a house, with a garage, or rather an apartment with a garage; all necessary tools for bending, cutting, welding. Until I learn all the fabrication and mechanical knowledge I will then perform all my own work. I already do perform alot of work. I work my fucking ass off to pay for my junk. If I didn't work 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. I would then perform my own work. My job operates every day, every minute. Whether or not I may be working that minute is unknown.

Anywho, I couldn't sleep last night since I am so pissed about the steering, I am buying this.

I think anyone into cars of some sort has been in your position. Hell when I was 18 I paid for my first motor swap in a civic..it took nearly 2 months to complete and never was right... I ended up learning everything there was to learn to make a new model motor work in my older car when It came time for more power I pulled out old and out in new all by myself.. since then I don't know how many times that motor has been in and out if that car or how many engine swaps I've worked on...my point is don't get discouraged roll w the punches a little more. Purchasing tools and a place to work and the skill required all takes time and energy. My suggestion would be to work on your truck as much as you can. When u don't have tools or knowledge ask a friend if you can help work on their projects..if u can't find anyone who's working on stuff read the build pages of all kinds of stuff be as much of a sponge as possible and ask many questions otherwise your boomed to have repeat experiences your describing.

Yeah I agree with you and good words of wisdom.

I do work on my own shit more than people know. I've only really only not done 1 thing, and that was the SAS... i've always been there doing work, or doing my own work.

I asked josh to build me the cage, I was there at least 30% of the time doing my own work on the truck.

I asked Mark to help me with the beadlocks since I didn't have a welder.

Me and my brother redid my axles, bobbed the bed, and added new leaf springs. (Once again, no welder, no vice to press u-joints)

I've done every suspension mod on my stock IFS, I lifted it front and rear by myself, replaced pumps, belts, other maintenance BS. I've built the rear bumper (previous). During my SAS days I've redone the hubs 3 times, moved the axle, 3 different times, cut my own steering linkage, redone most of the suspension, rebuilt my winch twice, installed my own bumpers, taken care of all the electrical. Meh.. it's a slow process and I am still young. You guys are 7-10 years older than me, I got time :)
