We both have mgm lol how I kinda just slipped right in. I appreciate the feedback! I originally thought that the touchup pens from Toyota didn’t have clear in them (didn’t see it on the bottle) but the parts guy said it’s mixed in already when I stopped by today.

Oh so your saying not to sand the jagged edge of the chip? I thought you’d want to make sure it didn’t lift up or be loose around the edge. But I can see how I would hold the paint in like a pool.

Well some judgement is in order, but if you start the way I said, kill the rust by making it a black hard oxide and seal it, then if there is a slight edge to hold build primer and paint it should be sealed. I didn't know clear coat could be mixed in paint ready to use.

I knew I didn’t see it on the label but it’s been months since I read it. Should of never second guessed myself and listen to the parts guy. I read the label again and it mentions to apply a clear

LOL There is a reason parts guys are parts guys and techs are techs. I am not a real body and paint guy, but I can weld and make paper patterns to transfer to steel and make my own body parts. I was a real tech, and it's hard to escape . These days I am still a retired working tech sort of and build odd machines no one would guess what they are for or do. And of course work on my own stuff and a little for a select few.

Seriously, it's already been mentioned but go to https://www.drcolorchip.com/ and order a kit for your car. I've ordered one for my last couple trucks and it's more than just touch up paint, it also comes with blending solution that makes the touch up blend in to your paint.

I've had some chips as deep as yours and I just used a few different layers and you pretty much had to know the chip was there in order to see it but passers-by wouldn't notice.

You really just need the standard kit which is $45. That kit will take care of this job and a few more later on. Well worth it IMO, good luck.
