Chirping from driveshaft or transmission.

    So now that it has gotten cold my drive shaft or transmission is chirping. but its only when i just barely press the gas, like to maintain speed. never under heavier accelleration.

    Anybody with this issue??

    How to fix???

    Know what it is??

    I have an 01 prerunner, 4 cycl. automatic. ext cab

    Yes I have had the same issue. All mine was the drive shaft needed greasing stop the chirping. Sounded like a bunch of birds chirping! only at low speeds or coasting. There are a couple of write ups on where and how to grease them.

    Sweet thanks. i ve heard that before. But i also heard maybe replace the universal Joint. I just hoped some more people will have insight on this. But hopefully the grease will fix it!! Thanks again.

    No problem. I might have to replace the front universal joint soon.:( it looks like it was throwing grease out, maby it will be ok. But like I said after greasing it stoped.
