Had my CHL for 7 years now. Carry gun is a Nighthawk Custom T3 .45 ACP. Keep a Ruger LCP .380 in the console of my new Tacoma.

I keep my Rossi .38 special 5 Shot revolver in the 4runner at all times. don't really carry it on me though. I need to start but would rather carry something else on me. a little bit more compact. and mom keeps a ruger 9mm in her car ready to go at anytime. she used to work downtown huntsville where car jackings, shootings and robberies are a daily occurrence.

Sig Sauer Nitron 1911, full size, in 45ACP. I'm looking at a Bond Arms derringer in 45 for when it is impractical to carry the 1911.

I have shot more than a couple of the Bond Arms derringers. When it is practical to carry a Bond Arms derringer you will probably still be able to carry your 1911. They may be called derringers; but they are still pretty stout pieces of steel.

CHL for 3 years, carried a Ruger LCP for a while, didn't feel like it was adequate for some situations so I stepped it up to a Glock 19. I've carried my Kimber full-size Eclipse Custom II on occasion but it's not exactly ideal.

Has anyone checked out Texas Law Shield? The lawyer group that protects you for a yearly fee?

I went ahead and got it. Just like any other insurance. You hope to never need it, but it's there if you do. It's cheap compared to what it would cost if you had to shoot someone. Just look whats going on in Florida. That guy is out millions because of this case. They say the Law Shield pays for everything. Criminal and civil.

That's exactly what it does. Fairly inexpensive and seems to be worth every penny if you ever need it.
