I didn't realize the discrepancy there. You are a great help. Thanks! I told the salesperson about my issues. He wasn't ready for real life negotiations. This is an Acura dealer. I might be able to work them down. My real issue is one of a personal decision. Do I want to give up an almost new Outback for an older truck? That is the real question. That is for me to decide. Running the beaches at OBX will be better in the truck. Hauling mulch better in the truck. Running on icy roads in the city, Outback is better. Choices...

I guess I want to know if this truck with these miles is worthy of 26-27K?

A couple more pics. I crawled under it(much to the dismay of my proper salesperson). The frame and suspension seems to be in good shape. No rot visible. IMG_1500.jpgIMG_1505.jpgAs you can see in the first pic, there is something going on with the paint on the rear fender. Nothing serious but a negotiating lever.

Sounds like the outback suits your needs well. I've been out of the market for awhile, but the price seems high on the Tacoma. Food for thought.

It covers most of my needs. It's the doggone few times I need a truck that kills me. On top of it all I think I could go Tacoma and save money each month. Oh boy. My mind is working.

It sounds like the dealer doesn't know Tacomas also.

Walk in with a low price and convince them to sell it at your price. Sounds like you want a Taco enough to make this happen. I fully support this kind of behavior. Welcome to the family!

You are an enabler. Shame on you! I am working numbers in my head on this. If I can somehow reduce my payments I might go for it.

If you're talking about your reflection looking different, they're all that way. The plastic guards look blurry compared to the metal, it kinda bothers me too, but it is what it is. My truck is silver so it's not quiet as noticeable.

Another thing with Toyotas is the bottom 10" or so of paint will have some serious orange peel. I guess Toyota sprays the paint thick at the bottom to make it more durable.

There's a rub of white paint on the rear end under the decal. Not a huge deal.

Stick with subbie. More cost effective. You have all wheel drive already. Do you just want to be up higher? Have more maintenance costs and less options?

FWIW, I bought my 2014 Tacoma double cab short bed TRD Off-Road with 24k miles last year for $28k. Just to compare this truck with mine when I bought it.
