    Alright...here goes...

About 75% sure that I'm going to be relocating to Seattle within the next couple of months. Been offered a position on a Bering Sea Pollock boat, which will be home ported there.

I'm lucky - in a position to pretty much pack up and leave; no kids, wife, etc...

I do have the truck, though. Which brings me to my next question.

I haven't paid it off yet, but have all intentions to. Basically have about
3k in payments left. I could do it right now, and be fine financially; I guess it just doesn't bother me to just pay off the loan gradually.

I've done a lot of work to the truck, yes it's become a project rig and I have some big plans. I feel like I'm at a transition, though.

She's got 111k on the clock. No major mechanical issues, (fingers crossed). A few rattles, most coming from a loose heat shield around the cat that I'm going to fix soon.

I've gotten about 3 offers within the last few weeks on my rig. The fact that Kodiak is an island makes them pretty hard to come by for sale, and I'm pretty confident that I could make a sale come to fruition. Like I said, I love the truck. I just don't love the fact that it's a 2.7.

Have a few months off as soon as I finish up Halibut longline. Planning to drive the Alcan down south, then do some traveling before heading to Dutch in Feb. I would really, really like to do a road trip from AK to WA, then head home to RI for the holidays, then back to WA. I'll have little commitments in my life, and I think it would be an epic opportunity.

...But if I do decide to keep this rig, I want to have it for a long time. I worked my ass off to afford it, and am proud of it...

Is putting all this mileage on a rig that has 111k on it not a good move? I know it's a Toyota, but I would really appreciate some input.

I guess options right now are:

    A. Keep it. Mod the shit out of it as soon as it's paid off. Lockers, Re-Gear...

    B. Sell it. Fly South. Buy newer lower mileage V6.

    Standing by,

Keep it definitely!!! It's treated you this well so far. I would expect a 4banger like yours to go at least 300k

If you're wanting to do some highway travelling, maybe look into a cheap fuel efficient car?
