yeah i gotta figure it all out. But I just really want to toss on some cheap bumps in the rear and go take her out. Needs to go on a maiden voyage still.
Thinking about picking up a 220 Welder soon too, Was messing around with Jordan's and realized that it's way too much fun haha

 

Dude that's why I don't have one yet...it'd be too easy to buy some tubing and decide I can cage the truck myself lol! (Obviously it would turn out like shit)

Yup, just start tackin' shit together and see what you can make...if it looks good, start welding joints. In my little experience of welding I've found that the only way to get better is to just do it lol. Stick time is where it's at.

Yeah I was just messin with welding two pieces of scrap metal together at Jordan's house. It's like building with Legos but so much more fun lol

 

Lol my last job, we had some spare time, so for practice I just started running lines down one piece...then randomly adding other pieces to it at different angles and running lines along all of them. Now I know how hard that shit is, and how tiring!

do yourself a favor and spend like $100 and get a welders helmet with the electric auto dimming glass. You can set the tint level and how quick it tints and all that. Fuckin' 1000000 times easier to weld with than with just straight dark tint.

No more having to set up and then flip down and hope you're still in the right spot lol

 

You can get a decent auto darkening helmet for 60 bucks at harbor. Yes auto darkening is far better than a fix shade lens for out of position welding especially

 

Yea I wasn't sure on price...I Erred on the high side.

One guy in our shop ha. An auto darkening helmet, when he let us use it, it made welding soooo much easier for me...when he didn't...it took me a while to keep a steady hand and stay on my line

 

also a clean lens makes a huge difference
