Please forgive my ignorance of HIGH end pocket knives. But why would any pocket knife be worth $425? I wouldn't carry a knife that cost that much every day.

To each their own, some folks like buying the highest quality stuff, Bentley's, Ferrari's, high end AR builds, high end bows...

This is for those who can appreciate it. I just think it's a waste that it just sits there. I bought it for hardcore use, camping wheeling in the middle of no where. I've had to use good knives to get me out of getting stuck in the middle of nowhere A LOT!
I would use it but I already carry a Benchmade daily, which in their own right aren't cheap either.

This thing (Umnumzaan) will outlast me, my kids, my kids kids.

Just going to drop this here:

    Umnumzaan:The Boss

In every sense of the definition, Umnumzaan is a knife deserving respect. Developed from the 20+ year heritage of the Sebenza, this bold, innovative folding knife is one to be reckoned with for its inventive design features and ability to get the job done.

A ceramic ball creates the interface between the blade locking surface and the integral locking arm surface. The ball doubles to drop into a detent on the blade to ensure the blade does not open accidentally.

Typical of CRK, the pivot strength is more robust than other folders. The large pivot screw and pin are supported by large thrust washers. These perforated phosphor bronze washers reduce friction and double to retain the fluorinated grease for longer lubrication thereby extending the life of the knife.

The thumb lug doubles as the stop pin, ensuring a solid lockup. Around the lug is a polyurethane o-ring that acts as a shock absorber to cushion the impact of the lug against the handle. Never wishing to copy other designs without giving credit, Grant and Gavin Hawk originated the shock absorber concept in one of their many innovative designs. We appreciate their consent for Chris to use this adaptation of their concept.

    SPECIFICATIONS:
    Blade Material:
    CPM S35VN Stainless Steel
    Blade Hardness:58-59 RC
    Blade Finish:Stonewash
    Blade Length:3.675" (93.35 mm)
    Blade Thickness:0.140" (3.56 mm)
    Handle Length:4.77" (121.16 mm)
    Handle Material:6Al4V Titanium
    Handle Thickness:0.150" (3.81 mm)
    Weight:5 oz. (141.75 g)
    Fittings:303 Stainless Steel
    Pocket Clip:6Al4V Titanium

    GLWS OP.

Late to jump into this convo but I have thousands of dollars into my knife collection. This knife would hold a sharper edge longer and take more abuse than even a high end benchmade.

This ^. And the heat treatment is a bit "softer" to keep them from breaking clean like the harder treated Benchmades.
    Alas everything dulls or breaks.

I get it too! Had to go through the same reasoning when I got my first quality knife! Got one and never looked back!

I make knives and I'll forever bow to the quality and temper of this knife. Not the average person would understand it but someone who regularly uses a knife as a daily tool or has an appreciation for well made hardware would kill to have this knife. The counter part to this knife the sebenza has been the holy grail of knives for like 15 years now. It's like owning a rolex

Well if anything hopefully this thread opens someones eyes and maybe next time they would spend a bit more than $40 on a good quality knife. I would suggest a Mini Griptilian for a good first quality folder...

I've never seen one of these but that's a nice knife. I'd love to have it if I could afford the cash for it. Good luck with the sell . I've got a Spyderco and love it, even though it's not worth this much. I enjoy good quality blades.
