As we come to a new year I figure it was a good time to make a list of build plans for 2023.
Let me know you thoughts or what else I should do.

    Repairs:
-Fix my third member. Trying to decided if I should run my 4:88 or 5.29 now that I have the auto.
-Still need tires for my dunes rims.
-Still need 330M shafts for the rear.
    -New drive flange kit

    Improvements / upgrades:
-Total Chaos lower uniball conversion and heim steering.
-Upgraded Howe power steering pump with trailgear kit
-GM Hydraboost master cylinder to make room to finish my engines cage
-Move the front bump to bump off of the upper control arm and finish engine cage
    -Rear Fiberwerx 8" bedsides.
-Build a new exhaust from headers back. Not sure what muffler i am using.

What am I missing? What should I be doing?

Badass build! Makes me miss my '01. It had a Camburg LT kit and 63" Chevy leafs with 12" Bilstein shocks. With the e-locker I could rock crawl with my Heep buddies and still run washes at 55 mph.

Thanks! They are very fun and versatile. I had a trail crawler Jeep also until recently. I just found myself wanting to take the Taco more than the Jeep most places.

New set of Solid Axle Industries 35 spline drive flange kit. Can't deal with the anodized red caps so need to powder coat them like the old set. One step closer to being a functional truck again.

Since the switch to an auto my truck has been destroying belts and at the end of the season i had belt slip like crazy. It is not a issue I have had before to this degree. Since switching to the smaller pulley I have seen more wear though. I decided to switch back to the 2.2 pulley to find the 2.1 pulleys ribs are worn way down. I was supprised because my 2.2 pulley was on the truck for more than 10 years and the 2.1 has only been on for like 3 and not many miles

Been having the same issues. I polished a brand new belt at hammers. Have you considered the tensioner may be part of the problem? Thats the next thing im going to check out

I put on a new tensioner and the URD tensioner pulley on it after the first belt broke. No change that I could tell.

The other theory i have is torque converter slip, causing rpm spikes. I was not very nice to the skinny pedal that weekend

I definitely feel better about replacing mine, it was due. In the end for me at the dunes the throttle is pretty much an on/off switch. I noticed with the auto I am instantly back in the boost/ rpm's thanks to the converter. With the manual the boost/ rpm's would work its way back up if that make sense. The instant RPM hits have to be very hard on the belt and pulley is my thought.

The push is on to get the truck ready for a trip to the badlands in a week. Hopefully all the parts will be here tuesday to put it back together.

trying to order axles from Currie turned out to be a ridiculous process and wont happen again. After finally getting a 300m price from them that was stupid expensive with a crazy lead time, I am just getting a replacement chromo for the broken shaft. I will source 300m from someone else.

My 10” gear also has a fair amount of wear on it but will have to go back in to use it this weekend

Got everything together and took the trip to the Badlands offroad park. It funny the looks i got when i went by some of the rock crawlers in the quarry. Truck did well except had a little carnage big surprise. I broke a fan blade dropping into a mud hole that went over the hood and also broke a tail light and cracked up a bedside on a big drop in.

Do you have the fans able to be manually shut off? This is even common on some of us who have fan clutches too.

A friend of mine has dealt with similar issues a couple times now in mud holes/water crossings. One happened on a trip in NH that resulted in needing a trailside repair:

Though he was using heavier oil in his fan clutch.

I do have a switch to shut them off. Unfortunately I didnt realize the water was that deep till I dropped in and water started coming over the hood (it was a long stream we were driving in) oooops. I would like to say it hadnt happened before but I carry spare blades from experience .

A video from the Badlands trip. I could really use bigger tires but overall the truck does very well in the rocks and mud.
