Did the tailgate assist bracket ever come about for 2nd gen?

running the right side anti theft bracket

I added an ez-down shock on the left or whatever it’s called and the thing sucks. Tears the stock wire apart, and makes me swing it by left hand outside the shock to close tailgate which isn’t user friendly to anyone else operating the tailgate

 

I also have a tailgate assist kit that uses OEM parts and a custom hinge, works perfectly

 

would it fit a 2nd gen? Do I have to get rid of my old (still using) anti theft bracket on the right side?
Pls LMK how I can find out more about this

 

The anti theft device won't work with the assist kit, yes it is designed for the 2nd gen

I got the item and bought the T45 security bit to install it, but what bit do I need to remove the factory bolt that's in there? 23 Taco

How did you remove the stock torx screw from the bed? I can’t get mine out. Any suggestions?

 

Mine ended up stripping so we had to drill it and extract it with an easy out.
