WOW...I'm shocked this thread didn't go further off the rails than it did. Everyone must be in a cheery holiday mood already.

Please no, just no. Let's keep the tacos off the cringy driver list as much as possible.

Rudolph's red nose, antlers, and xmas lights are limited to soccer mom minivans only. I don't make the rules.

    Oh look, another mod....
I didn't wrap my taco, and I probably never will (but hey, I'm not knocking those that do!), but I did wrap the huge oak tree in my front yard this year. It's the first time I've ever done it. I bought the LED lights on Amazon (where else?) and it took me about 5.5hrs of climbing up and down and up and down and up and down three different ladders to complete the job, but after I lit it up, it was worth the work I put in. Plus...I saved hundreds of dollars! People were quoting me un-godly amounts to wrap the tree and "rent" the lights!

Use 1/2" long #6 self-tapping sheet metal screws. These will help prevent theft.

Also, check with the LEOs. These may not be legal. Some jurisdictions they only need a small reason to make a stop.

I use to do this on my FJ roof rack; kind of fun! And most LEO's don't care even if this might be technically illegal in some places. Nobody wants to be the Grinch who pulled over someone for what are clearly Christmas tree lights on a vehicle. :)

That is nice work, many people will appreciate. Unwrapping is not much fun either.

100 count LED lights and a 16 pack of 3M Command clear outdoor light clips arranged around the edges of the tonneau cover. Just gotta be careful when I close the tailgate.
