I used to do the bed rails as well, but I’ve found a use for the sliders when I’m not wheeling. For the people who are claiming “illegal”, I’ve never been pulled over for the Christmas lights as they’re not strobing a response vehicle color.

This weekend I pulled up next to an FJ. He had lights wrapped around his roof rack, I had mine on as well. We nodded and continued on our merry way. :santa:

Most lighting setups I have seen, including mine, are significantly dimmer than the tails. During the day you can barely tell they are even on. As long as they aren't causing an obvious blinding distraction and nobody is trying to pull people over with them, I would wager that most cops don't want to be the grinchy asshole that tags folks over it. Its a bit of harmless fun in my book.

Pretty sure this shows you were breaking the law - https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.37.210 Not trying to be a grinch, but there is a time an place for everying. Driving around looking like Dynamo from Running Man probably isn't the best idea for the rest of us that have to drive on the same roads. Just Sayin'....

Shhh... the Grinch seems to think that ANY added lights are illegal. At least in the State of Washington.

Well even if it is illegal, cops aren't really gonna give a shit. If "that guy" was a cop he'd be ticketing every 90 year old woman with tinted windows to protect their skin from the harshness of the sun. "Oh you were going 2mph over the limit? That's illegal scumbag! I'm gonna have to write you a ticket. If you refuse to pay it it will be a $1000 fine and up to 6 months in jail. Have a good one, drive safe, and don't let me catch you speeding again." - @Sungod if he was a cop

Eh, I kind of enjoy the debate, it gives me a little bit of insight into how people tick. Some people are really into the letter of the law, while others are more into the spirit of the law. Some people are just really into "rules are the rules, and they must be followed precisely so," while others are really into "the rule was made to prevent this brand of harm, and if I'm not causing this brand of harm, who cares?" The mindsets of those two personality types fascinate me.

My boss is a letter-of-the-law extremist, she will proudly report her neighbors if their trashcans are left at the curb more than an hour beyond the 6 pm deadline as per HOA rules. I'm the opposite. I'm a big believer in laissez faire, my neighbor has a damn forklift parked in his front lawn and it doesnt bother me in the least. :notsure: Naturally, I have an investment in learning how the rule followers think, and how to stay on their good side. :p

I will not live in HOA neighborhood ever again. My motorcycle is too loud, I like to work on stuff in my driveway, I will change the curtains in my front windows to whatever color I want, if I dont feel like edging along the sidewalk I won't do it, and I do leave my trashcan out until I go to work the next day. I will go out and start my truck or motorcycle, put the can away, then go to work. My neighbors are good people and not one of them is uptight snooty folk, in fact, one them will come over with his bike and we will change the oil in both of them at the same time. Don't even ask what happens to the used oil.

I was thinking of attaching 12 volt lights to mine for Christmas. I wonder how many standard incandescent strands can i run if I cut off the wall plug?
