    Will,

I'm not totally in the shitter...I'm still going to decorate my truck when it comes back from the dealership.

I'm going to highball the lights around the house though...just no desire this year.

Try to keep the spirit brother.....its been a tough year for ya, but your one tough redneck......:D

Having a little trouble keeping the Christmas spirit this year myself. It saddens me to see some TW members having job, health, and family issues around this time of year......

Will, I'm with you this year. No tree, no lights, no gifts. Kind of embarassing to say, but no money for that stuff this year:(. Wife went out on disability just after Thanskgiving and the checks haven't started yet. My job cut all overtime, so just paying the bills is a challenge. It'll get better. Next year, big tree, lots of lights to make up for it!

There doesn't seem to be as much Christmas Spirit this year. That's too bad. But I went to church today (first time in a long while) and I feel pretty good now. :)

well..........for me, its not so much what has happened over the past few months, although it may have a bit to do with it, but its just the whole thing of shopping when you have no damn $$ to do anything with, yet you are still expected to buy everyone something:rolleyes:(after being outta work almost 5 months.....when i went back....we were all told that we had to take 2.5 weeks no pay...split up over a couple of months, but still:mad:), and the wife nagging about this and that. i put her stupid icecicle lights up, and bought her the stupid tree thats standing in our living room now........and all she has done is put lights on it so far:D...........yeehaw! then my brother and sister call and "let me know" that they are wanting to celebrate christmas at my Dad's house(where he died in august), and i aint really looking forward to doing any of that at all. hell....we are still working on the house and property trying to get it into selling shape. i dont know..............i'll just be glad when 2008 is over and done with!!

Christmas is for the kids, I really haven't had any spirit for a while, well... since I was a kid. The ways and means have changed since the whole thing started, and we as man have F'ed it all up, and truly lost the meaning of it all.

It sure is a damn good time to take a second look at what we DO have and cherish that. Imagine lil Caylee who was robbed of the rest of all her Christmases. Forever. Imagine our soldiers who are in iraq right now getting the stinkeye from the folks there instead of buttering a warm biscuit over a nice holiday feast with their families. Imagine how freezing cold it is outside your home and someone is out there right now looking for something dry that will pass as a blanket.
please dont get me wrong Im not preaching-Im trying to offer some perspective because you are good folks who I hate to see like this! I say have a merry Christmas anyway-cherish those you love because you are lucky to have them and take pleasure in the simplest of joys when you can. Like Old Tacoma Guy wisely forecasts-2009 will be a lot better IF that's what you really want:)

    Tint, Clear Corners,
I'm stuck in AZ all by myself. All my family is back in Iowa/Minnesota and I get to spend Christmas all alone.

Howd that come about? How come youre in Az alone-work? Anyway, thats a hard one for you I know but I hope, as cheezy as it sounds, that you can find some sort of joy in spite of the being alone:( even if it's just a matter of watching Christmassy junk on TV or even reflecting on the birth of Jesus? Anyways I'm sorry you are alone this one buddy-

Yeah, the holidays have been kind of rough for me since 2005 when my Mom passed away. Then my Dad died this past February. They were basically the only family I had (the rest are spread out all over and we've never been close). I'll be glad when they're over and done with and things can go back to normal (whatever that is!).
