It might be a bit early, but I was in dire need for a little Christmas spirit.

If I lived in a house, rest assured they’d be bonkers.

Will the entire truck shut down if one of the bulbs go out?

Looks great! How'd you secure them to the truck?
Also, obviously different per state, but what's GA's take on the legality of running these (white/amber, obviously not flashing colors) on road?

I have to change the channels on the radio depending on what bulb I have lit.

It depends, in some areas it’s zip ties, in others I used some strong mounting tape. It doesn’t pull off the paint, but I put it on the plastic trim just in case. Some areas are just held in with friction. Last year was a big learning experience.

Forgot to respond to the legality question. I’ve done some research and haven’t found anything definitive. I did, however, encounter an officer in his patrol car while I was working on it last night. He gave me a thumbs up and even had some lights of his own on the inside of his car. I didn’t get pulled over once last year, even after commuting through a number of counties and passing GSP.

I had some trouble getting the lights to work, turns out I just needed to flip the switch out back.

Roughly how many feet of lighting did you need for that?

I did the measurements, it’s 4 individual strands ranging from 20-35 ft. I should’ve used 3 35ft strands and one 20 ft but I used 2 20 footers and ended up needing to connect another one. I have a schematic of how the lights are laid out (minus the measurements) if that’s something that would interest you.

I would be interested, thank you. Are those battery powered LEDs? I have an SR5 so I'm probably gonna go that route instead of running an inverter in the cab and stringing lights out the window.

They’re real AC lights. They’re plugged into the outlet in the bed of the truck. I rewired it to run while the truck is moving. I’ve had luck in the past using battery-powered LEDs, however if they’re not wired to the same battery pack they can be a bit annoying to turn on and off, but who cares for a little Christmas spirit?

I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to put up Christmas lights, but a few of my neighbor's already did theirs last weekend. I tend to go overboard with the display, but it's well received. :santa:

Ah gotcha. That bed outlet is the main thing on higher trim levels that I really wanted. Maybe I'll just see how long I can find the LED strands to minimize separate battery packs. At least I can leave it on if I stop at a gas station or something quick, won't need to turn it off and on all the time.
