So I'll try to make this short as possible. Starting off my truck is a 2016 TRD sport, tech premium. 94000 miles. I have a aftermarket rear bumper so bsm and back up sensors are unplugged.

My truck sits all week. Gets run to the store or to see family but not far unless it's going wheeling and it's winter and kinda shitty out latley. But I went out the other night to move my truck and the dash was lit up like so

Stability, abs and brake light on. No issues last time I drove and parked. Kinda freaked me out a bit. So I took to rolling around in the snow to see if I had a disconnected abs line or pinched a wire somewhere.
Under the rear bumper I found these...20220107_140336.jpg 20220107_140339.jpg
I dont have BSM and never plan on reinstalling it so I just snipped them off hoping this was the issue. Nope. Unplugged the battery and reset everything, nope.

So i decided to take my truck for a little drive hoping maybe it would straiten out. Turned to head down my drive and flipped it to 4x4hi. Then it said that 4wd is unavailable. Wtf!!!! Flipped it back to 2wd and all the lights turned off. The abs, stability and brake light were gone. Flipped back on 4x4 and worked like a charm.

So I'm at a complete loss as to what could had caused this issue. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Oh look, another mod....
Wiring gremlins always seem to come out when it gets very cold (your dash stated it was below freezing). Thankfully it's fixed, but you may never truly know what the issue is.

But you should clean and cover up those exposed wires. They may be the cause. If not, it may just prevent future issues.

I actually snipped them off. And tapped up the wires. I might do a wire nut and fill it with silicon when it warms up a bit. 20220107_142749.jpg 20220107_142757.jpg

Make sure you isolate each wire individually. If the cut ends make contact you could send voltage where you don't want to send voltage. You can either put a wire cap in each wire, then take them up to keep them out of the way, or wrap each wire in electrical tape then wrap them up to keep them out of the way. Either way, you don't want an open wire touching another open wire.

No mice. I followed as much as the harness as possible and it's flawless other than those 2 plugs in the back
