Chrome badges.... Trash or Cash?

This is a 17 Tacoma SR with painted bumpers and chrome picked up from Tacoma World. Have since added bed rails to protect sides of bed. We haul bikes all the time. There maybe others who prefer chrome to going with everything black or removing emblems. Thanks guys. I got the Tacoma I wanted that Toyota didnt make. I wanted a base truck that didnt look like one.

 

I'll tell you what, I can appreciate the look of your truck. Have you thought about replacing the painted bumper caps with chrome bumper caps?

 

I bought an SR with the sx package and it came debadged already, and now I'm thinking of getting some badging to put back on. I'm thinking of getting black lettering and spray painting the TACO on the emblem, safety orange to match my accessories and RTT emblems. can anyone reccomend or give a link to a good set of emblems?

Hey I'm a little late to the party but I have the black badge overlay and I could share some photos... In my opinion I really think they look good and the tape is really solid I've had it for 6+months and still looks good. The fitment is good so you can't really tell they have been covered. Mine had one spot where it didn't want to stick all the way so I just through a piece of my own 3m tape in there. Besdes that totally worth it, if i remember there not cheap but mine was a birthday present not 100% on price

 

Been thinking of replacing the Calvary blue ends just not sure of quality of aftermarket.

It looks like it’s worth a try or you could pick up a used OEM set of bumper caps here in the classified section.

 

Looking at doing this as well. I’m planning on painting over the plasti dip and only using that as a base so can can peel off later if needed. I’m going with Rustoleum color shift green copper or blue galaxy on my black truck.
Any idea how well the plasti dip will peel up with spray paint on top?

I never purchased the black Tacoma badges, I just removed the originals completely from the doors and the V6 was purchased on eBay but the seller doesn’t have them anymore. Sorry

Same here, But then again, I'm an ole school guy. No issue with the chrome look or the black out look or the de-badge look. Just a preference. Liked the chrome look on my 2nd gen. Kinda liking it on my 3rd gen. For the record though, It does look pretty clean de-badged.
