Has anyone here done a chrome delete on your truck? I’m trying to see if the grill will look good or dumb if I plastidipped or painted the chrome part.

I think I like the design of the original grill as much or more than the aftermarket ones so if I can just get rid of the chrome I’d likely be content. Thanks!

I plastidipped my chrome rear bumper years ago and it's held up very nicely.
But I'm not sure how that would look on the grille.
Post pics if you do it.

So I had the fugly chrome grill on my '03 and I ended up buying a cheap aftermarket grill off of Amazon (cost around $80) that was a flat black plastic. I then painted that with Steel-It, and it came out great and has held up well, even after plowing through scrub brush during elk season.

I also painted the chrome bumper underneath too.

I did this one with Plasti dip. I also had the metallic flake so I put a real light dusting of that on it. I didn't go out of my way to buy any of this it was all given to me by someone else definitely looks a lot better than the Chrome. It's been on there for almost 3 years has a couple of minor chips in it now. But otherwise still looks fairly decent. Starting to get a little bit hazy.
