Anyone know the difference in the oem tip, for $60, and the $12 one offered by Walmart, except the Toyota logo on the oem one?

I would expect the OE tip to be stainless, and the Walmart tip to rot off in a couple of years, being rolled steel with thin plating.

    But I could be wrong.

Mounting on oem tip is much more robust and heavier stainless

I tried buying one from Pep Boys and I could get it to tighten down. If you buy OEM you will get exact fit.

Is the 2016 an oval tip? Debating between adding either the 2016 or 2015

The toyota tip adds 35hp and is covered under the factory warranty. The walmart tip claims up to 40hp gains but dyno results have shown 6-10hp. Just kidding. The toyota tip is thicker and much better made.

The Toyota one is Polished Stainless and Walmart tip Chrome plated which will rust quickly. Try this If $60 seems too much, pay $12 for the cheap one and when it looks crappy after a few months and you now buy the Toyota Tip, you have now spent $72. Take $12 off for good judgment and Toyota tip now cost $48. just my $.02

Better get mudguards for the rears to stop all the junk that gets kicked up into the exhaust tip.. Had my vehicle for about 3-4 months and the tip looks crap and it won't clean off easy.

In my research, I saw somewhere the oem tip has a one year warranty, they must not have much faith in it if that's all the warranty they provide.

That's the one I bought(wal-mart), looks great, fits great.

I keep considering and aftermarket exhausts so there was no way
I was paying $60+ for a tip that may come off when/if I replace the system.

wow!! forgot how plain it looked before I swapped out the stock
    tires for the BFG KO's.

Very, looks just like it did a couple months ago when I bought it. No rust,
no nothing wrong with it and it's been rainy and snowy as hell, so plenty of
moisture has sat on it and nada. I had one just like it on another Taco and
it looked great, rust free for the almost 4 years I had it on there.

You receive a 3 yr/36K mile warranty on OEM accessories purchased when you take delivery of a new vehicle.

That's true, but I'm buying it now, and it's warranty is only for one year.

The Toyota one is also chrome plated.
My mistake, the WalMart one is not chrome plated, it's all stainless Steel.
