Currently I have a stock 2010 Tacoma sr5. Recently I added step bars. I am debating getting chrome or black rims, possibly the xd hoss chrome rims or the xd rockstar black rims. Which ones do you all think would look better? I have not taken my truck off road yet but after the rims/tires and lift I will.Going to get 285/65/18 Nitto Trail Grappler tires.

Also if you have either of these would you please post pictures!

    Thanks!

I would defenintly say black rims but not necessarily the ones you chose. But if you like them then thats all that matters.

    The better coast
Since everyone must conform on TW 70% will say black. The 1% will say chrome and the other 29% will say something like "your truck your choice, don't do things for others approval"

I like both 50/50, I think they both look sick on white, (hoss wouldnt be my choice though) I think the chrome might be a little more forgiving off road though?? Guess it depends on what kind of off roading you'll be doing

I'd go with black on a white truck. I like chrome on darker trucks.

Since manufacturers often put painted rims, usually without hubcaps, on their least expensive vehicles, I think painted rims (black, etc) look really cheap. Why would I want my not-so-cheap truck to actually look like a cheap one instead? Because of that, I selected chrome. Actually, anything except painted.

I think chrome has too much of a "bling-bling" effect. I considered the XD Rockstars but decided on the XD Revolvers as I didn't want an 18 inch rim...just my 2 cents.

If you want something unique and different then ANYTHING but black and ANYTHING but XD. Perhaps a dark Gun Metal grey.

Black got played out years ago and is old and tired. Black XD is so tired and played out by the bro mall crawler crowd.

It's all subjective, but the problem with mixing chrome/alluminum with black is the excess bling.

Manufacturers started mixing them because they realized black was played out to the max and no longer is original or unique. One black wheel looks the same as the next, unless you inspect it up close.

Silver accents on wheels give detail and look decent(see white truck above). But when the chrome/silver is all over the place, like this, it just totally pimps it out and screams ghetto. The silver on black scheme kind of gives things a pimp-mobile vibe ala silver chains and gold teeth. Where be my ho's ?

There is also alluminum, gunmetal, gray, dark gray, charcoal, etc..

Black is just so played out I don't see why anyone wants it these days. It went out of style about 5 years ago. The only people that still use black rims are ricers and a few serious offroaders whose main concern is not paying money to scratch up and drestroy chrome and such.
