Chrome Peeling Off Tailgate Emblems 1st gen

All,

Has anyone had any luck with refinishing the emblems on the tailgate? It is the classic peeling of the chrome that looks crappy to say the least. I want to stay with the chrome appearance and I know that refinishing them in some way is the only option.

Is there some sort of brush on paint that would flow out smoothly for a factory like result?

I have replaced the Tacoma emblem years ago when the were available and it is peeling too.

Ideas and pics appreciated!

I completely understand that.

 

Since these emblems are obsolete I got the next generation emblems and put those on just like these.

Anyone have black outs emblems? I wanna switch my too .
