    No its not a "good thing" its a cheap thing. I backed into my daughters mini van with my metal rear bumper and while it bent it a little I was able to pull it back out. You can't do that with plastic!

    It's meant to be cheap but bet Toyota will charge $100 for a $10 piece of plastic
