New gears hit 500 miles yesterday literally as I parked on the beach

Got home and flushed the gear oil

    Oil change as well

    8F839EE3-F508-4302-A1C5-7F04ED90ECA4.jpg

Also I keep forgetting to address my e-brake cable rubbing on my leaf pack
For now I’m going to add wire loom (prob double up) on the brake cable with zip ties

    Any other suggestions?

While the drawers were out to reduce weight for break in period I fixed a crack with an aluminum bandaid and sanded, re-stained, and clear coated the drawer tops

Also was looking to crank down my icons a bit. After a trip to Canada, cross country, lots of miles on and offroad the front end could use some perk. My passenger side is hurting from beach life but driver isn’t so bad.. hit the threads with som PB to try and turn in a couple days

Set time aside this Saturday to do trans flush and leaf bushings

While break in period removing most of the truck weight I took the air out of my rear air bags completely. It’s so apparent how shot the bushings are now. You can hear and feel them clunk each side going around turns.. they about 5 years old.

    And air bags FTMFW
No matter how much I wanna carry I can just add more air.
If I want a softer ride as the trail gets rocky, I can’t let out some air.
Along with the ability to still flex the rear, this is the most perfect setup for me

Yo man. Sorry I still owe you that pic. Weekends are occupied getting everything moved out of our place in anticipation of our move the second weekend in April. I'll set a reminder to snap a pic and send it after work today.

    Sorry again.

You can get some fuel line/hose that’ll fit over the e brake cable and secure it with small hose clamps. Then it rubs that instead of the cable.

I’ve been running wire loom on my e brake cable for 8 years. Still on the original pieces too

I love this idea!! Any idea on how much weight these will support? Did you reinforce on the inside? I was thinking if I do this mod I’d run a flat 1.25” pice of steel with the same hole pattern as the track to bolt the tracks to. Acting as a long “washer” so to speak

That would actually be a great idea..

Something I would’ve done as well but I knew the mounts were Tred specific. If I was gonna do roto cans or any additional weight I woulda considered the flat stock washer. I just used the flat washers that came with the hardware to the track system.

No clue how to guess how much weight this setup can properly hold.

Been wondering for days how my bushing swap was gonna go. After soaking the hardware three times over a week with PB I finally went in to see if I could actually unthread a nut.. One nut off led to another off which led to pulling the bushings and shackle flip mount.

Bushings were definitely woah’d the fuck out

    DEDCB570-5587-4731-B27E-F99BD177358A.jpgE4575D8A-3F32-4168-AF64-3F769AFBC7E1.jpg

It was wild to see the bare steel still shinny from grinding off the frame rivets to install the shackle flip. Thought for sure their would be corrosion itself on the frame but even that was clean. A bit of rust at the optional bolt holes but nothing to worry about.

This makes me hopeful for my SOS to BAMF shackle hanger swap. Frame looks clean.
