Those rears don't look like they're pressed in, correct? Going to be swapping my rears soon and I want to make sure I don't have to set them on fire like the fronts.

Also, same replacement bushings after the old ones were woah'd to hell?

 

Not really.. he had a bad batch from powder coat. He said the powder coat shop forgot to do a step. Haven’t seen anyone complaining outside of that batch.

Not the first vendor to have powdercoat issues..

Not everyone has been following the trials and tribulations of that (former) vendor...

Yea I guess I just dont live on the internet. I only just recently found time to start logging back on. I even googled kbvoodoo powder coat issue to see what you were talking about and that’s where I read that he had $14k worth of inventory messed up by the powdercoat shop.
But still.. in the gfc thread that I check regularly, quite a few people have the aluminum bed rails and i haven’t seen anyone complain about them.

 

Love this build. Especially the tire size, debating that one myself.

 

That really sucks Chux.... NONE of my POR15 is peeling like that.... and I 1st did my Sliders 6 years ago.

 

Same OME bushings going in the leaf pack cuz I had ordered two sets on the original Dakar order and only installed one set in the pack as it came with a bushing in the front eyelet. Been just sitting on these OME bushing set for like 4 years not really thinking bout them but now that it’s time to swap I dug them out of my hording old mods pile and will toss them in. I’m gonna use the energy bushings I got from Randal for the stock shackle.

Well hit the halfway point to booshing swap

3hr job done in 3 days..

Pulled driver rear spring bushings and shackle flip mount.

I did need to cut the bolt to the stock shackle on this side.


Faught with the stock shackle bushings and sleeves for a bit

Far right was the first one I did. Spending a lot of time smashing the sleeve in. Next to that made some minor cuts and noticed the inner seam, with a punch and hammer I quickly knocked it out. The next two on left I didn’t bother cutting just went right after the center seam. A little tough to get started but if you keep working the seam with a blunt punch they will jump right out. Key word is out, the two sleeves are already separated so work each side in an outward direction <—| |—>

 

Defined Engineering makes a nice stock length serviceable shackle. I've had them for years without any bushing issues...
