Recently decided to do a little reconfiguration on my Prinsu rack.

Made up a spare tire mount for my rotos

The next move is putting my Treds on my cap window with roof bar tracking

Deleted everything on the Prinsu rack so I can put on a roof cargo box. Searched high and low for a Thule Weekender. It has perfect dimensions for the rack but unfortunetly they don't make it any more. Scored one on CL, drove up to Conneticut to pick it up

Nah you'll be fine! You won't need chains and if you want to save weight/space thats one thing I would take out. But if you have room never hurts. Ill take you up snow wheeling in real mountains ;)

@Chux. How big is your rotopak set up? 4gal a piece. Love the build. Enjoy the cross country trip. Lake Tahoe is beautiful. Went there back in high school on family snowboard trip.

    That mount is pretty slick.

You could also drill/bore holes through the mounting plate that line up with the lugs on the spare. That would make it easier to take off the spare with an extension going through the holes.

That's ridiculous. You had clean fun with our Canadian dirt.

... and for border security to use possible hoof and mouth transmission as an excuse is retarded. When did you see a wild cow running around our forests?

I suppose weather systems have to check in at the border as well?

... at least you had a good time. You're welcome back any time.

Learned a prefilter is not that great in snow storm. Traveled over 2 hours round trip today..

After both trips there was a build up of wet snow on the outside of prefilter and snorkel body. Inside prefilter after both trips was light dry snow, and air filter was dry as well. I was shocked to see it full of snow first time inspected. After thinking bout what the prefilter does started to make sense. Second time inspected, I was shocked to see it not as full as the first time with the same weather conditions both trips. After further thinking the only variable that really changed was the amount of traffic. First trip having more cars on a snowy highway made my speed constantly fluctuate between 30mph and 50mph. Second trip I was able to maintain an average speed of 50mph. Seems to show the intensity of suction with a prefilter while being on and off the throttle Mostly being on it will pull anything in and collected in the prefilter, I have even had rain collected this way.

I'm assuming that was a good thing that the pre-filter caught all that. In not that all would have been in the intake

    Glad im
Not the only one it happened to today!

Correct. If he had the regular snorkel head on and didn't turn it around or to the side or anything it would have gone into the filter...

Also @Chux my bowl is clear! I can look into it while driving thats the only reason I even really noticed... the first time I noticed it was with the rain storm that was supposed to be snow last week. It filled my bowl up 1/4 way.

Shout out to @Wheelspinner for coming by and helping me swap out LBJs. Swapped out to Moog for the grease fitting, my truck has sounded like an old creaky door for the longest time. A while back I bought a grease needle and injected the boot with grease but it was ineffective. A major concern as well were my uni balls that have slowly gained a lot of play in them and recently started hearing knocking. Swapped them out as well. Finished everything up and was able to get off road as the sun was setting.
