Figured you all could appreciate this:
Took a trip with the gf and her family to Cancun. AKA heaven. Haven't felt so relaxed in my life, the whole week seemed to be one long Jimmy Buffet song. All inclusive which meant mini fridge stocked with cold XX and swim up bars with all the Micheladas and Mojitos I could drink. The first night we found out about 10 min walking from our resort was a mini strip mall with a great Cigar shop. Little bit of hassle and f**ked up Spanish and I was getting packs of 3 Cohibas for $15. Every night with the two uncles Im close with in her family we went to the infinity pool at sunset to smoke and drink and swap stories. Popped on of the cousins cigar cherry too. Lucky bastard got a Cuban cigar prolly rolled that week if not sooner. Haven't found a cigar like those since coming back sadly.
Pic of the Gf and me at the Chichen Itza Mayan Temple:
    IMG_8828.jpg
Pics of the hotel sign, infinity pool family pic, and sunset pic from hotel door over the bay you'll see Playa del Carmen
    IMG_8812.jpg IMG_8831.jpg IMG_8845.jpg
    Pics you really want:
    IMG_8832.jpg IMG_8833.jpg IMG_8835.jpg IMG_8834.jpg

Still haven't gotten all the photos off the camera and go pro but once I do Ill spam my build thread. Amazing time and would recommend it to anyone for bachelor party, honey moon, or even just a get away with your loved one. Worse case drop her off at the mall and you go grab all the cigars you can carry. If only the embargo was lifted 6 months sooner I would've spent well over $200 there on cigars to stock my new cigar box.

 cigar smoker checking in! I don't have them nearly as often as I had the last few years. I used to average 1 cigar every week or two. Now I smoke about once every two months. I have a full humidor, and rarely get to smoke em!

I am a big fan of:
    • Liga Privada Papas Fritas
    • DE Hererra Esteli
    • DE Hererra Esteli Norteno
    • Caldwell - anything they make
    • Crowned Heads Jericho Hill
    • Fratello
    • Room 101 Daruma
    • Room 101 Big Payback
    • My Father Le Bijou
    • La Sirena - anything (for more than one reason - see their IG account )
    • Torano Exodus 1959
    • DE Kentucky Fire Cured
    • DE Java
    • Leccia Black or White
    • Certain CAOs (unsure of which ones off the top of my head)
I am NOT a big fan of:
    • Anything by Acid (sorry everyone!)
    • Victor Sinclair
    • PDR
    • Pinar del Rio
    • Rocky Patel
    • Punch
    • Perdomo
    • Gurhka
    • Macanudo
    • Davidoff ($$)
    • Monte Cristo
    What I want to try:
    • Warped Cigars
    • Te amo Revolution
    • More Crowned Heads
    • More Tatuaje (only have had a couple, can't remember them)
    • Oliva
    • Alec Bradley

So this reminded me to rotate my cigars and refill my gel. Here is my current selection!

Are you using the maint free gel packs?
I have one in my humidor and it wont go above 60%
It's supposed to be one of the 68% gel packs
The temp is a bit low in the box around 68deg

Eh that little blue pack I have doesn't do much I don't think. I use some gel in the container below it that all I do is refill every two weeks (if I remember :frusty:) and it seems to keep it right around 68-72% depending on how it is here in Tucson. My next purchase should actually be a good moisture system rather than these cheapies I get for free and trust to maintain all of my good cigars.

I was using one of the Workbench humidifiers with distilled water, I noticed the humidity was almost uncontrollable spiking in the 80s
Recently around Thanksgiving on routine inspection found mold on some cigars.
Did a complete teardown and refresh, fortunately I didn't lose any of the really good sticks.

Ah really? Haha I wouldn't have a clue since that was the first Cubans if it was indeed a Cuban I've had. My gf uncle on the other hand always has them on hand and seemed to think they were real. But hey $15 for 3 knock off is still something

Yea, it's the small squares around the band... Cuban cigars are made with a lot of pride (good ones and high end ones) The real ones have laser sharp edges around the squares and they line up perfectly o the same size. The labels on Cohiba's are usually beyond perfection.

The important thing is that you enjoyed the cigar! As long as you liked it it was a good cigar! Many folks come in to the cigar club and give the owners or workers some 'Cubans' and they are more often than not fake.

@Pirhett, not a bad selection! I aged a box of Flor de Los Antillas for 18 months and they smoked great! You'll have to try the maduro Flor de Los Antillas that came out over the summer.

Thanks man! I've gotta start smoking some of what I have now before I buy more. But I'll keep you mind when my next purchasing round comes!

I haven't been into my local shop since my birthday in March. I am not sure of their current selection but it is usually decent. And if not, I buy from CI, CigarMonster, or Cigar Federation. I REALLY try to stick to Cigar Federation...I used to listen to their podcasts often and I have won probably $250-500 worth of cigars from them over the last few years.
