    Hi All,

Both of my cigarette lighter sockets are popping out. Is there a part number for just the retaining ring only?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Sounds like an opportune time to wire in some proper USB charging jacks that have QUALCOMM 3.0 charging.:)

Both of the plastic covers were broken off when I got the truck. (2014), Most of the trucks I looked at were the same. Replacing them fixed the looks of the otherwise nice and clean interior from a clapped-out worn rental car look. Replacing the two pieces for each one solved two issues: the broken covers themselves, and the loose/worn metal receptacle pieces, which also couldn't hold the accessory plugs in place any more to keep a good connection.

You'll need a small hooked pin tool to separate the two pieces. When you receive the new ones, it will be obvious how they come apart to replace them.

Mine are so loose, they just fall out of the hole in the dash.

The plastic cover and the metal piece with the wires connected work together to keep it in the dash. Until I fixed mine, the plug would ether work its' way loose on its own and fall out, or it would come out completely when you removed the plug for something. Luckily, the wires would stay connected and not disconnect and spring back into some hidden place behind there in the dash.
    :annoyed:
