    I took a cigarette lighter out of my International dump the other day and tried to use it in the Tacoma. It wouldn't work. Is it possible it's because of the American/Japanese thing or can the outlets only be used for power and not a lighter?

    Maybe you had the wiring wrong... Remember, there is no reverse polarity..

    You need a longer coil body, it's not making contact with the power source.
