I priced out 2.5 no resi's in the front and 2.0s in the rear with and without resis. (I've heard people all say the Fox 2.5's aren't as good as the 2.0's in the back)

No resi's anywhere is highway robbery, resi's in the back is still scorching. I don't need resi's because I'm never going to overheat my shocks on the kind of stuff we do, so it'd just be for cool factor.

    hahahahahahahaha

    ....

    hahahahahha

I want to help install them. I'll either end up on OME or Fox so taking one off and putting the other on will be a good learning experience.

I just PM'd about the same setup... curious how this compares in price to the shocks in the ToyTec Boss kit. I guess we will see!

How is that different from the TRD PRO setup?

I guess I have 2.5" all around, but remotes in the rear only. It handles well, smoother than most trucks I've ever driven.

iirc the front shocks on the Pro don't have resi's, is that correct? The setup I priced out (and am trying to convince the wife to let me get for early Christmas) is more in line with what I think is on the Pro

e: derp derp you replied before me

That's correct. Very smooth, but with all the weight I've added and plan to add, I'll likely up the leaf springs down the road and seek a stiffer coil for the front or a small spacer?

I've seen a few TRD PRO guys pull off the FOX system and switch to icon or OME or King. Not certain why, though I'm not a suspension expert.

Did anyone decide to go adjustable?

The only difference I really know is that Icon's are digressive and King/OME/Fox are progressive. In English what that means is Icon's are stiffer at low speeds but eat up bumps at high speeds, whereas the other's are smoother over low speed imperfections and stiffer at high speeds. I don't know why you'd switch from Fox to OME besides maybe the BP-51s, but Fox to King is just upgrading to a 'better quality' (which is debatable depending on who you talk to) shock, and alot of folks that have desert to run around in like Icons for the fast washboard stuff.

For our trails, and this is just my uneducated 2 cents, but based on my understanding of the two, I'd take a progressive shock because if you drop off something at low speed, it will stiffen up the last half of travel and be less jarring than a digressive.

At this point I just want to make sure whatever I put on the front can support the weight of a bumper and winch without compromising my pizza cutter clearance. I figure anything aftermarket will do that for me.
