I guess on Tuesday I'll see if I need to plan a road trip to go kill a couple of Groundhogs. ANY of them that say ANYTHING about 6 more weeks of winter will be on my hit list!

I've got an old mouser action Remington 22-250 with a 12 power Redfield scope that has always been my go to varmint rifle.

Let me know how that winch works out. I was dead set on a Warn winch. I've had 3 and like their quality, but all these doctor bills, I'm looking for a less expensive alternative.

Calling in my part order tomorrow morning for the next suspension upgrade. After that, I may take up a friends offer to buy my tires and go with 285's, maybe not....I'm liking my gas mileage with the 265's.

    Decisions....decisions......

I was thinking of a more "Hands-on" approach for "The Great Groundhog Day Massacree", since I don't own a gun, and haven't even held one since sometime in 1972 when I was in basic training in the Navy!

This past fall, I cornered one in my shed. Popped a 5-gallon bucket down on top of it! Shoved a piece of plywood under that, and hauled it off still breathing. My grand daughter was there and would have been VERY upset if I killed it.

I accidentally hit one a while back on Hwy 167 south of Monticello. Little critter ran right out in front of me. They make a HELL of a lot bigger "Thump" when you run over one then a squirrel does!

Where the Warn winches shine is if you really abuse 'em. They seem to hold up to being submerged in mud/water better than most, and parts are easier to come by if/when you need them.

Long story short, I owned 3 winches, for a total of roughly 9 years, and only ONE TIME ever winched myself out of anything, and I probably could have drove out of what I was in....just playing with the winch. However, I must have dragged 100 friends out of situations they shouldn't have been in! Think I'll put a coin slot on my next one! $.50 a foot!

Popped one from my bedroom window with a 12ga slug. Thumb sized hole in and out, but all of his guts came through the small out hole. Wich I had a pic lol

Tried shooting at a coyote from inside the house one day (with a .45 handgun) That was in the early '80's. My ears are still ringing.

That's why I got the X2O, Smittybilt says the can run their entire life fully submerged. I'll take that bet.
