Most people look at a threat as a "video game threat". You screw up, you get shot in the head, then you hit reset. The Army taught us differently. You're no good to anyone, least of all yourself if you're bleeding out from a head wound. Evaluate. Make certain you have control of your situation. If/when it comes down to firing a weapon, be as violent and lethal as you can be, but FIRST and FOREMOST, realize the fact that the other person will not be following a script, nor will they play by any well defined rules. Reality can be a motherfucker.

I always think of the line from that '80's movie "War Games", where the computer simulator tells everyone "The only way you can win is not to play the game".

Some fights, NO ONE wins. Just losers and BIG losers.

It's hard to assign a cash value to your life. Let them have the wallet if that keeps you alive.

    I don't peep and tell

You in GEOC? I've been part of that since the inception! Solid group of guys.

As far as TIG- it's solid. Best case you utilize the trainings and such, worst case it's an unlimited use outdoor range. I like that they have reactive steel targets in one of the pits. Construction on a decent rifle area has been slow but it's coming along. The instructors are legit. One of the guys also trains special forces and he is like a fucking waterfall of information.

Anywhoo to come full circle, I don't have problems with people carrying guns at all, however they want. I think more people should. I just advocate training cause *that's* what will save you if you ever need to use it.

Lack of sanctioned training that I know taught them, at least once, how to clear a jam and shoot 20 rounds into a silhouette target.
At least have the ambition to take some basic training.
Too long didn't read it all.
    I will somewhat agree :D
Also too long and didn't read it all.
    Also, somewhat agree :D
This is "West by God Virginia" they call it. They're smart folk...

The law they passed here in WV, more or less, makes it so anyone can CC anything. Aside from a felon breaking law and being in possession of a firearm, they can legally carry the illegal firearm concealed.
    WAAAY too much gray area.
Never seen one in your waistband. Must be on the ankle :notsure:
Usually see your Colt in the back seat.

My guess on everyone's carry choice
Nick has RIWB Lc9, Bill appendix 1911, Matt IWB.....woods handle, shiny, .38sp(?) Josh Walther 9mm (because 007), chris trying to hide a G23ish. My brother produced an apendix Eagle at a semi wanton LBL campfire meet... after that I can imagine anything.

I'm trying to eat breakfast and fix computers at the same time. I'll go back and read.

I just think open carry makes you a target for the bad people. Plain and simple.
If I'm one of the good guys and won't take my eyes off you in public for fear of your stupidity and lack of self respect, what's going through the mind of a criminal?
Not having a CC license makes me assume you have no clue how to draw your tool without shooting yourself, me, or someone else. Same goes for actually using the tool.

Your both right. One in principle and the other in practice. I sleep better knowing both of you are out there

I think we're both on the same page, just one reading left to right and other reading right to left....

I'm 110% FOR license. Just don't care for open carry. Why advertise. Keep element of surprise in your favor.

If there's anything I can do to link myself to bygone era, I do it.

Other hand held is a Colt Peacemaker .44 w/11" barrel. Hard to hide. Lives in a western style holster. I like punching big holes in targets.

My brother has one like that, may be the Sig. Thought about that as an alternative to the full frame.

Oh sweet baby Jesus the day has finally come where my two favorite things, bullshitting in the Cinci thread and guns, have come together in a fantastic marriage!

This is what I carry. M&P 2.0 9mm. 17+1 Barnes Tac XPD, and a spare mag full of the same.

When it's on my bedside at night (dressed up as it is in the picture), it's loaded with 147gr Remington Golden Sabers, because subsonic.

Leaning against the wall on the 'wife side' of the bedroom is a turkish-made Hatsan Escort MPA loaded with Winchester PDX1 12 gauge, which is 3 pellets of .00 Buck and a 1oz rifled slug. I really enjoy that shotgun, and they're cheaper than a glock. I'll probably buy the Marine version someday because...sex.

I was a "13 Charlie".....Forward observer....while in the Army. I spotted and called firing solutions for these babies! We were trained to fire "Limited battlefield tactical nuclear" shells (Nukes) and "Copperead" anti-personal rounds in the Fulda Gap against as much as 72 divisions of Soviet armor during the cold war era.

It was developed from an 8" navel gun. (Hand held weapons were "weapons". trac mounted they were "guns".) We could rain hot steel down upon enemy troops and/or equipment (at that time) at up to 17 miles away and drop a 200lb + shell into your shirt pocket.

Imagine the biggest, heaviest door you ever saw slamming as hard as it could be slammed. Then multiply by 100. That's what they sound like firing. All you would here if it was about to hit you was a shriek as it fell towards you. Then you saw angels/Satin.
