I was looking through some pictures and found this. It’s about a mile or so from the Rock House Cafe. I layed over at the Red River Resort,, I think that’s the right name,,,They have an awesome zip line. So ya,,, I’d take a couple of days off work to get back down there in something that I could have fun with.

 

That's a good article. I've been reading up on winching since our very first LBL meet cause even in the absence of my own I think it's key that everyone in a group knows how to use all the equipment at least passably.

To that end, everyone read this stuff! One thing I think we should add at least one of is something like the Deadman earth anchor (https://www.deadmanoffroad.com) because as you put it yesterday working on those leaf springs Matt, "Mr. Murphy is a bitch". I know the likelihood of us getting stuck without a suitable tree nearby is low, but it's non-zero

 

Guess it's time to put some tannerite in the recovery kit then too...

 

We tend to avoid the large gathering events. They cost more for no reason and more rrdnecks than you can count. Trails get congested and it isn't fun.

Plus if we're gonna spend thousands of dollars on all this recovery shit it's a waste to never use it
