Ok. Scratch @dirty deeds dick tires. I’m going with Kumho.
Going from the 265/70/16 to 265/75/16.
Everything I have read says that I can go up one tire size without any problems. So going to try it out.

Update:::: ain’t gettin nuthin till I can get the new Firestone M/T.

 

Why Firestone?

 

Other than the Mastercrafts that I have now, Firestone is all I use. They’ve always been a good tire for me.

 

On my second pair of Firestone A/T's right now. Sold my last pair that had about 75K miles on them and had a good 40% thread left if not more. Been a good tire for me as well.

 

I've seen a few people here at work with the Mastercraft AT and MT tars on their trucks. Noticed them for quite a while, guess they like em well enough. But, these guys all pretty much live in the same area and I'd bet a testi that they got them from the same tire shop, who happens to be Mastercraft dealer.

Personally, I'm thrilled with my Grabber AT2s! Wearing nicely, good grip in everything except deep mud, not an MT so to be expected. I'll look for their X3 when I'm ready for new tires.
Or whatever Bill hooks me up with in 265/75 from his buddy.

 

Their MT looks decent, but my AT’s dug some serious trenches trying to get up in my yard.

 

Mastercraft MTX is a really good tire. Sort of an early generation Cooper STT PRO....slightly different tread. They do get vocal when the miles add up. 2 friends run em on jeep xjs.

@dirty deeds lately everything thats showing up at the tire store is KO2s. BALD KO2s at that. May be KM2s in near future.

In all seriousness....265/75's would be the shizzle for your purposes. The Duratracs I had were 265...very capable size.

There is a set of Yokohama Geolander MTs in 315/75r16 sitting there. Gotta give $350....May be stashing those away in my shed for a rainy day! Goals.

 

No rush on the tires. Don't even have the spare wheels yet, after LBL they will be with me.

Also, need to set the money back for MT tires. I would go a different size, pending what's available at the time for a 16" wheel in a mud tar.

 

Fortunately (for me) seems that everything showing up is 16s. When I finally get around to installing SEMA wheels they're 17s. Might do Cooper Maxx then.

 

I'm not going to tell you to hold anything for me that looks good, but I am saying that, too.

 

I figured since it's tax refund time there would be a flood of em. So far...

Eh, I'm sure I'll be ready by summer for tires.

Gotta have short and long term goals

 

After I got my Tacoma, Ricky Bobby from Alabama shows up with a FJ. After I got my AXT’s, he pops up with MXT’s and started taking my parking spot. The only thing he’ll ever get on those or the tires on his Jeep is armor all. That damn hillbilly took the MXT off of my available tire list.

 

Find some really good red clay and rub it on the sidewalls immediately after he blacks them
Gives tires a hint of blue

 

That’s why I like the people here,,,, they know things!

 

Last time I used armor all, I had a new '78 Camaro. That is te stinkiest shit ever made. I prefera clean natural look
Tires should not shine like they're wet

 

My tires were blue for months after I used shine on em one time washing the truck, then going wheeling not long after that.

 

Armor All smells good. Other shine products, not so much.
