If you're driving anything "not jEEp", they just barely allow you on their parking lot. I work about 2 blocks away and have been there numerous times. They prefer to do builds and aren't so much into selling "out-the-door parts". If you go (or call) ask for Lucas. He seems to have more interest in selling parts than anyone else there.

This time of the year, best bet is something like fire access roads or something easy. Most of the ground around where I live is mush right now. Freeze/thaw "heaving" has everything soft and wet. What would be a fairly negotiable trail 8 months out of the year is a tank trap now. It's best to have a winch, great (new) mud tires, and a crew of recovery vehicles. BTDT....wish I would have stayed home. It's fun times 80% of the time. That other 20% can be a buzz kill though.

Forum replies are few and far between. (Except in jEEp categories) Most replies have dates in the last millennium

I owned several jEEps back in the day. They were essentially JUNK from the late '60's on. Why they sell so well? One word. CHEAP.

I worked for Honda while I was racing. They have a strategy of spend whatever it cost's, just get it right....THEN we'll figure out how to sell it to make money. We had a term within the company..."cubic dollars". Just get it right.

I've owned Chevy's, Fords, Dodge, jEEp, Nissan, etc.....And I keep going back to Toyota. Most likely will STAY there now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't we still technically bump our chests with pride anyway since our trucks are made in Texas? (At least post 2010 or whatever)

I'm not so much into the whole USA vs Overseas thing as I am just about brands.....jEEp is part of Fiat now. So.....Italy vs Japan? Toyota has a high percentage of US made parts and components, but is still a Japanese firm.

Toyota builds trucks in Texas, California and Mexico. 2 of those 3 are "foreign countries" to me these days......

All I know for certain is, my years with Honda taught me more about excellence than any business I was ever around, my Toyota's have been the most reliable vehicles and held their value better than anything else I've ever driven, and every since AMC stuck their foot in the door @ jEEp, they haven't been worth a damn.
