Most of the guys who woods wheel are switching to ham radio. Cd sucks and seem to work only in the parking lot if your lucky. Get yourself a cheap bao -fang from glamazon.com if cost is an issue

I've not been to a TW meet yet where anyone has even mentioned HAM. Probably because there's assholes who have nothing better to do than nark on people who aren't licensed and it's a hell of a fine.

CB, (like HAM) is all about the antenna. Get a good firestik or wilson and you'll be happy. Ultimately it depends on who you're trying to wheel with and what comms everyone has.

However, that reminds me to look into the process for getting an organization frequency that we can all share and be on with only one actual 'license'. That's what another group I'm a part of has been trying to get in motion.

    Exactly.

If we lived in a desert wasteland that had repeaters all over like the western states, HAM would make sense. But we don't, so CB works fine for us.
It's cheap, decently reliable, and very easy to get a good setup.

Speaking of woods wheeling, and people with no mods, like Deeds, hey @no mods - you coming to the RRG meat? We'd love to meet you!

Also, fwiw, trends don't matter if nobody else you ride with is following them...

Shame, stay tuned though, @Bluegrass Taco usually plans a Black Mountain meet in the fall. It's a good place to drink fireball and hammock in the snow.

I'll be out that weekend. If yaw riding Slade make sure your packing a few inner and outer tie rods. Bunch of steep stuff out there and they pop easy.

Went twice last year, maybe 3 times, I dunno. This will be our second time this year. Usually, alignments get out of wack, about it.
