True, you go up 52 don't you? lol So you're probably close to the same distance. I'm about hour 15 from Cincy.

My buddy actually told me on the phone the other day that he had 3 extras. I haven't seen him since he told me though. He bought a house and has been working on it every weekend for the last little bit.

Sunday is fathers day. Maybe early that morning for a few hours but I'll probably have to drive back home

Time and money more than anything. I’ve got two young kids and I’m currently going through a divorce...

I’ve got the TRD skid plate on the front and whatever those black tube step things Toyota sells on the sides right now.

Truck isn’t stock, I’ve got Bilstein 5100s and OME 885 coils up front and the Icon 3 leaf AAL on top of the recall leaf springs in the back. Sitting about 2” above stock and currently sporting 265/70/r17 BFG KO2s. Would like to eventually upgrade to the 34x10.5x17 BFG KO2s (technically 33” tires when mounted) but that’s going to have to wait until bonus check time and tax return time next year.

You guys are right though, my fear of breaking shit is probably the largest factor to me not having taken this thing very far off the beaten path yet. But after I get the rear bumper back on the truck, get these new front wheel bearings and the needle bearing installed I will technically be ready to roll. I definitely won’t go out alone the first time and before I ever do it I should probably get a spare tire that matches my current tire size, just in case.

Haven't quite figured out Avenza in the past 5 minutes. Looks like a bunch of old top maps, not really showing marked trails. But I know Chris and Matt use it.

Which Backcountry? There's a free one and a $12 app. Both made by CritterMap Software LLC

They're the same. Free is like a trial version for like 25 days. Well worth the $12

Importing maps and switching between them/saving them seemed easier for me. I could figure out how to switch from state to state or KAT, to DBBB, etc. way easier.

If you're gonna go to the work to fit those 34s you might as well just get 35s. Also, fwiw, seems like not many tires are actually the advertised size on the truck. My 315s are only actually like 34.6 or something

Which one should I use? I'll pay for either one.

But I want something simple that I can go into their map store, or lazily search the internet without much fuss, and find a proper map of the place I want. I can look at pavement all day, dirt is important.
