Does anyone have a scan tool? I’d like to be able to do this brake upgrade and not have to drive the truck to a shop to fully bleed the system.

That sounds fancy. I might have to hit you up for some assistance come brake bleeding time.

And out of curiosity, what’s a setup like that cost? I used to have all that stuff for old my VW/Audi cars and if I recall, the program was like $400...

Techstream you download from Toyota and is $65.00 for a 2 day license. The Mongoose is from Drew Technologies and I think I paid $500 for it 10 years ago when I had my 4Runner. It has paid for itself already in saving trips to the dealer. You can get cheaper cables on eBay etc, but this one is what the dealers use and it’s supported by Techstream support.

If you want, download the Techstream to your own laptop and you can barrow my cable. That way the license is in your name cause you get a license Key that is specific to your computer. If you use my laptop then I have to buy the key again.

That would be great! I have a small, over powered laptop that I bought specifically for my constant VW/Audi tweaking back in the day.

Once I finish sourcing all the parts and schedule a day to do the brakes I’ll hit you up for that cable. Thanks man!

The download link always takes awhile to find. It’s not obvious. I think I had to login to my account to get to it Friday to download to fix my VSC trouble code I self created.

But again, that was a cost and time saving use by not having to go to the dealer.

I gotta fix a VSC thingy too. Gonna try the self-reset method with wire.
This is what I get for driving my truck. Faster that I should on tall n skinnies through RRG's state route turns. :D

So In June, after 25 months, I finally get off having every weekend on call and go to once every 7 weeks, meaning I can finally go ride off road. :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

Not that I've ever went wheeling with you guys to begin with. But I put in for another job at my work and it's looking like there's a good possibility I'm going to get stuck on weekend shift for a year.:frusty: But for more money on the hour and more overtime potential I guess I can't complain with the wedding and stuff coming up. If any of ya'll need a hand on working on shit let me know. I wouldn't mind meeting more Tacoma people.

Lebanon, right now I'm a Production Facilitator at a Small GE shop in Springdale. I have a manufacturing maintenance background so I have been working on getting into maintenance. I used to be a field service tech for a CNC company but took an entry level job at GE to get out of traveling + a hefty raise.

I imagine you probably work right across the street from me, if you work at the GE on crescentville.
