RRG looks to be about a 3hr drive for me.

Once I get the 4runner in more of a usable state, I'll consider this trip.

I don’t know if my truck will be ready by the end of the month... and even then, without beefier skids and sliders I won’t be doing anything too crazy anyway. It would be nice to take the truck off-road when I get the UCAs and 33s installed, but no rock climbing for me.

For reference, Ed and I couldn’t get the rear brake lines off this past weekend... the nuts on the hardlines were rounding off even with a box end wrench. So my brake upgrade saga continues...

Man, why is everyone making RRG sound like it's moab all the sudden in terms of difficulty? There's still plenty of stuff down there that you can do in a stock truck. It's not like we're all going to let someone destroy their rig by forcing them on trails for more built trucks. And shit, even if you don't want to wheel, show up for the shenanigans and meet the group, and catch a ride when we go out. We honestly probably have more fun bullshitting around the fire than we do on the trails most of these trips anyway.

Tried the vice grips and PB blaster and they weren’t gonna budge... Rather than risk leaving my truck stranded in Ed’s garage, we called it and I ordered new hardlines, clamps and bolts to replace everything from the flex lines (soon to be stainless) to the drums. I will thoroughly soak the upper hard lines with PB blaster a few days before I give it another attempt (we didn’t even touch those after the fail at the lower hardlines). Those lower hardlines are just too close to the ground and in the “fucked by corrosion” zone. I’m hoping the upper hardlines are far enough up there that they will break loose. Probably gonna drop the spare before making the second attempt for more working room.

Kings Toyota actually emailed me this morning saying my order was ready to be picked up. They must keep those lines in stock for all the frame replacements...

The annual, Cody-OP, RRG trip is straight up overland/do it for the Gram type anyway lol

It's the smaller gatherings, decided last minute are when you wanna leave the stock trucks at the mall.
