Louisville (and the surrounding area) is getting thick with Toyota's. Plenty of jEEp stuff, especially 19 year olds with hacked up XJ's, and of course the obligatory "ROLL COAL" 3/4-ton diesels. We have several TWers in the little town I live in. It's just difficult to get everyone together at one time. I'm twisting the ear of a sales manager at a local Toyota dealership to sponsor an event this summer. So far I haven't heard the NO word. They realize the potential business it could generate. Only thing standing in the way is the liability issue.

A good friend is a lawyer. He has told me time and time again, liability wavers aren't worth the paper they're written on. Just a mind game to make some people think they can't sue. You cannot sign away your right to be protected from someone else's negligence. You sponsor an event and allow someone in who commits a negligent act, YOU become party to their negligence.

Not MY thoughts, but I'm not a lawyer....

There's a building for rent about 2 blocks from my house that was at one point the roller skate rink in our town. The wooden floor is still intact and in decent shape. They have parking for about 60 cars. My wife and I are mulling over the idea of making it a '60's themed restaurant that would host car club oriented events at every opportunity. She's got years of restaurant management background, and my 27 years at the club exposed me to quite a bit of the food service industry. I've written a detailed business plan, even talked to a couple bankers (one of which is interested in becoming a silent partner) This may happen in the near future. It would be an IDEAL place to host a Toyota based 4wd show and shine sort of event. Just thinking out loud here....Opinions welcome.

Any chance you'd toss in a couple two post lifts and air compressors?

man, I have been wanting to do this at a local park that is an old golf course. A few ponds tucked away that I can only imagine have some lunkers in it and never get fished. But you have to live is the town it is in and have a sticker. Might be worth a ticket :) where do you live @Jibbs

Rumor has it, all you have to do is go into the AV police station to get a pass. You have to fill out some paperwork. Or park on Springvalley and walk across the street.
